Are there certain members you won't talk to about politics?

I just told my mom I dont like either of our candidates and it almost turned into a full blown argument. She's heated I don't like her candidate.

Like I'm allowed to have my opinion.

You definitely are allowed to have an opinion and like any candidates you please. The system is designed to weigh all of our opinions in the vote. It's sad that you can't have a conversation with her. There must be good points about her choice that you may not know about, and your choice may have have good points that she doesn't know about. Even if neither of you changes the other's mind, it's a healthy discussion to discuss issues.
