He should grab a book and study the 1920-1945 period.

@Elessar Oh, what happened then?
Elessar · 26-30, M

@Elessar You might want to read up on the lies Antifa tells about itself in the USA these days. They are not the same group they were in the 20's and 30's.

Their own name has a lie built right into it. This group has nothing to do with the European antifa of the 20's and 30's, other than their name. Antifa once had a purpose. They were an underground fighting group that nipped at the heels of the Nazis, at Francisco Franco, and even at Mussolini's minions.

In the USA today, they pretend to be all about love...(I heard a female Antifa member say that). But they have become a Jekyll and Hyde...love on their calm days, and destruction and chaos and tearing down our nation if they perceive that someone here is enjoying too much freedom. They erupted in violence at Berkeley when a conservative speaker was requested as a speaker by conservative students. There is some pretty famous footage of them setting fires and breaking windows, wearing masks when there was no virus. They famously threw a cement "milkshake" at reporter Andy Ngo, who was there reporting on their violent activities in Portland, causing brain damage. They attack anyone who tries to record the things they are doing.

I also heard a former Antifa member talk about how he was recruited at Berkeley, (which is a hotbed of recruitment BY college professors among their own students). He was hammered into joining. He was told that he was a victim over and over again, and told that the only way to free himself was the destruction of our entire system of government. And Berkeley, I must explain, is a hotbed of radical far left progressive, (Communist), subversion along with Harvard, Cornell, and many other ivy league universities. They do so love those big payments from Chinese students...

The goal of Antifa is NO government. NONE. They desire destruction and chaos.

George Soros, thrown out of his country of birth, and a Nazi sympathizer in his youth, destroyer of the British pound, is paying many antifa members $15.00 an hour, and "someone" very wealthy, (I don't actually know whom), is paying their expensive hotel bills and airfare so that they can fly from city to city to riot, burn, commit violence upon the police and cause destruction in general. The FBI has made that known, and it was discovered when so many of them were arrested in Washington D.C. They were all found to be from other parts of the country, flown in.

@4meAndyou Antifa/scism is an ideology. An ideology has no concept of membership by definition, it would be like speaking of "members of conservatives". You can say members of the GOP, like you could say member of groups that claim to act under anti-fascism, but not "members of antifa", as if that was a party/group/coalition.

Reason why I think he should grab a book. Ever since he potentially marked as terrorism an entire ideology rather than the groups we all know of.

@Elessar Hair splitting, IMO, and a degree of solipsism.

This is not quite as bad as the turds in Congress who like to pretend that Antifa does not exist, but pretending that they are not a group is deliberate blindness.

This is not the Euro group we are discussing here. In the USA they show up with tattoos saying Antifa on their bodies, for Pete's sake. They profess their membership on video. When they quit Antifa, they also go on video.

@4meAndyou No, definitely not hair-splitting. It'd be no different than if a minority group of extremists tomorrow decide to label themselves as "Christians" and use crosses as their symbol, ravaging cities and what not, and the pre-existing historically-established concept of Christianity as a whole got blamed and outlawed as a result.

Antifascism is the opposition of fascisms and remains the opposition of fascisms, no matter what people who proclaim themselves as "antifa" do.

It's not that complicated, not even for non-Europeans or ex-Europeans I would assume.
4meAndyou · F
@Elessar Once again, this is a group. They travel from place to place. They behave with criminal intent, committing arson and attacking the police and the press. They call themselves Antifa but they are the opposite of Anti fascist. I don't know about the european Antifa, but THIS group...(and they are a group)...has co-opted the name and NOT the ideology.

@Elessar wolves in sheeps ' clothing might call themselves sheep but they are still wolves
TexChik · F
@Elessar so he should just have them killed
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Exactly my point. You (govt) don't kill the sheep as a consequence of wolves having disguised themselves as such, but still would look for wolves. That's what the current administration did wrong.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@TexChik Nah, I'm a firm believer in the justice process doing its course, in first-world countries that are first-world also thanks to its existence, I'd leave medieval solutions in the middle ages and less fortunate places.
revenant · F
@Elessar you are picking the wrong story
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant You don't outlaw an ideology if you want to outlaw a group that branded itself with the name of that ideology. It's a really simple concept.
revenant · F
@Elessar what ?
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant Yeah, keep pretending you don't understand...
revenant · F
@Elessar you do not have the knack of making yourself clear.
Elessar · 26-30, M
@revenant The concept was explained three times in three different ways, at this point I wonder if you're pretending not to understand it, or...?

But anyway, if you want it explained by someone who's better at words than me, here's a 2 minutes read:

@revenant Yeah but I'm not in the mood to draw today, sorry 😅. I stayed up until 4.30am to watch the American elections and woke up to go to work at 7am, you can imagine how long I'll stay up tonight 😬

@Elessar find the keyneysian guy to help you...forgot the name of that Brit's username !...argh it is a bit like watching a movie credits tonight. Wait for the sequel coming soon near you 😂
