And how many flu deaths during that same period of time? Suddenly flu has disappeared according to Dr. Birx.

@cherokeepatti Whilst the figures for flu aren't available at the moment, we can access the figures for last year.CDC estimates that the burden of illness during the 2018–2019 season included an estimated 35.5 million people getting sick with influenza, 16.5 million people going to a health care provider for their illness, 490,600 hospitalizations, and 34,200 deaths from influenza (https://www.cdc.gov/flu/about/burden/2018-2019.html#:~:text=CDC%20estimates%20that%20the%20burden,from%20influenza%20(Table%201).)
Which equates to 10.62 deaths per 100,000 people...simple math...
Which means Covid is currently (And it's still reproducing and this isn't over yet) 6.54x more likely to kill you than flu...
I hope you're keeping safe. x

@cherokeepatti is the point you are trying to make that Covid death numbers are being exaggerated because no-one is counting (traditional) flu deaths any more?

To keep it short. Influenza make up four of the seven genera os the family Orthomyxoviridae, which in turn has one species and each one several serotypes. All it takes is a single google search.
Covid is another word for influenza.
That's like saying Leukemia is another word for Cancer 🤦♂️To keep it short. Influenza make up four of the seven genera os the family Orthomyxoviridae, which in turn has one species and each one several serotypes. All it takes is a single google search.

Yeah, I'm in Illinois and we were doing pretty good for a while there. Our positivity rate was dropping little by little each week, not much, but consistently going down. And then about a month ago, maybe first week of October or so, it started climbing rapidly and we've hit 8% so we're gonna have to start doing lockdowns again.

@EuphoricTurtle indeed. And just to add, "Covid deaths" are deaths where the person has positively tested for Covid-19, not "regular" influenza ...and yes, tests do tell the difference ...and no, being hit by a bus after testing positive won't be counted as a Covid death (have I missed any? ...just trying to get ahead of the conspiracy theory whack-jobs 😉)
