Looking for some of the more aged members of SW to weigh in: Has another president in your lifetime generated so much division or worldwide ridicule?
Obviously we always consider the events of our own lifetimes to be the most important or different than those that came before. Whether you support him or revile him, Trump has been the focal point of a division in his country approaching civil war. Or so it seems.
You older folks who have seen a few presidents come and go, has it ever been like this?

I've never seen a president in my lifetime as corrupt, inept, divisive, and evil as Donald J. Trump. Most act presidential, but not Trump, he's a disgrace to all Americans and to the world.
@JeanAnna Many in Europe are deeply worried, because he is not just another president, he is the president of the most important country, our most important ally. He represents the US to the outside world. It's pretty scary.
@helenS I know. He has destroyed our good relationship with our allies and is friends with the dictators of the world. All we can do is vote him out of office. We Americans are good people he has made us the laughing stock of the world. And he's not done yet. He'll put up a big fight if he is defeated, probably call out the troops, but he will be dragged out of the White House kicking and screaming, blaming his supporters and Fox News for letting him be defeated. He's a cancer on society and the United States of America.

@helenS Thank you for your kind words. We aren't perfect here in America, but most of us care about our country and other countries as well. We believe in justice for all. But with Trump he wants to be a dictator, instead he's a traitor to everything that America stands for. Hopefully he will be defeated in another week, and a new president will try to gain our prestige again and unite us again.
@JeanAnna I really do not know what might happen if Mr. Trump will be re-elected. Unlikely but not entirely impossible. It's a terrible perspective. Good luck to all of you good people! 🌷
@helenS Thank you. We will lose our democracy if he is reelected. I love my country and I hate what he's done to it. Mocking this virus when thousands of people are dying every day, and he does nothing about it.
