Question for the UK
It's been determined by several of you SW, UK Scholars that Trump is to blame for Covid in the USA. I'm curious as to who is to blame for the second wave now hitting you???

Over here people treat the state as god. They hand over all responsibility to the state and then, without fail, blame the state when things don't go well. It is almost like people here wish to take responsibility away from themselves so they don't have to blame themselves for their own bad decisions. UK dweller here, smaller governments for the win!

@lynncelestial No they don't treat government as "god" here. They just expect it to do what it is supposed to. Most countries that have been hit with COVID have at least attempted to keep pace with how its mutated, But this lot have been pishing "herd immunity" even though scientists that it both an unproven theory and stupidly dangerous to even think about trying it.

@jackieash A lot of them really do. A lot of the sheepish behaviour of many in the UK makes sense through the lens of secular religion. Also, "scientists" are not just one group all in agreement 100% of the time over everything, that is not how science works. However, that is part of my point. Despite the fact that MANY doctors, nurses, scientists etc have disagreed with the lockdown measures, the world states decide which doctors should be listened to, like a religion. However, feel free to put complete trust in the state, history shows that that always ends amazingly.

@lynncelestial Where did I say I had "complete faith" in government? All I said was it was people expect them to do what they are supposed to do. The government is after all a group of public servants, there to serve the people. It's this bunch that has twisted it round so that they have become the ones in control and us have become their servants. I have ignored the government comments about the virus from the get go and took more notice from the scientists, who have been more consistent. I have no time for conspiracy theorists, either so I don't buy into this "it's a hoax" crap.
