Libertarian Fan Fiction aided a lot.
You know, those thinkers that compare anny form of taxation and redistibution to some form of Stalinist dystophia. The moment you get taxed as an individual or the community says that it's probably better to rethink what consequences freedoms of individuals have became a reason to bring up the early soviet union and triggers some form of high sensitivity.

Biggest examples of thinkers like this and books that became popular in the English speaking world:

These ideas came in touch with conservative fanfiction. You know, those people that believe in liberty and freedom as long as God says it's okay. Hayeck was already deeply religious and then you get thinkers like Thomas Sowell. Who talks about how the welfare state destroyed "the family". Because freedom is okay, but getting divorce because you made wrong choices or the person you love seems to be an asshole over time... is not. You have to stick together because it's just better for you and for the economy. Not only is there a God, the economy is also an entity that needs to be appeased no matter what the consequences of the economy are for real people. If they have to stick together because they are economically not able to divorce, then they should appease the economy and the kids.

And all of this started to bled together and being projected by diffrent media that is sponsored by those that are really better off. The Koch family to name just one. And before you know it you have a bunch of poor bums that believe they shouldn't be able to go to the doctor because they weren't able to pay for it. Or you have a generation of boomers that gained really well of social systems, were able to go to school, enjoyed the economic upswing after the 2nd world war, bought a piece of land and a house because it was still possible... while gradually pushing up housing prices just because they were able to put some fancy stuff in low cost neighbourhoods. And now they are in their late 50s or older and they don't wanna pay taxes because that's just a form of tyrany bla bla bla bla. And because this is a really large part of the community (hence the baby boom) they have a lot of democratic power. And thus all these conservative fan fiction sites try to convince them that the public education they got when they were younger shouldn't be payed for by tax dollars now because well, it's just really evil to tax people. And that all of this will eventually create a utopia that they officially don't believe in.

@Kwek00 I read Atlas Shrugged, great book. Did you know Ayn Rand helped write Rush's "2112"?
Kwek00 · 41-45, M
@SW-User Nope... I'm not that fond on Ayn to go that far in her activities. I also don't consider Atlas Shrugged message to be that great. That doesn't mean she isn't able to write a good story. But at the end of the day, that's what it is, a story with characters that are charicaturisations and ideas that once put into practise will soon show they problems. Her utopia will turn bad quicker then she likes to admit if it really excisted.

@Kwek00 Agree there. Btw I found about her helping write 2112, it's in the album cover

@SW-User The guitarist apperently talked about it in Rolling Stone Magazine:

@Kwek00 I read that, but I knew it already from the album.

@SW-User I'm also not a big fan of Rush, so these kinds of trivia are all unkown to me.
SW-User
@Kwek00 Makes sense.
