You can have different political views and still be good friends. Some of my best friends are on the other side of the field, But we just don't discuss politics and we get along great!

I for one don't have a political bone in my body. So we are friends as I don't discuss anything political. They respect that. And I respect they'll have heated debates that I will not interact with.
