So...a cuban refugee talks about coming here by boat to escape communism.

I reckon living in Florida and being wealthy gives him the stage. What about others escaping tyrannical home situations?
I guess they arent from the right countries, maybe.

Cuba has a special policy called Wet foot/ dry foot.
Carla · 61-69, F
@AthrillatheHunt I had to look that up. One year.
And DACA kids have waited how long? Most since infancy.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Carla barry big ears started the policy, why don't you ask him what his solution is?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@sunsporter1649 wet foot/dry foot wasn't started by Obama, you can say DACA maybe was. But it's interesting you're fine with wealthy white Cubans just swimming over and getting citizenship, but indigenous descended Mexicans and Guatemalans need to jump through hoops.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla I'm pretty sure Trump tried getting that DACA thing passed.
Nancy would have nothing to do with - it might make Trump look good.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 "Wealthy Cubans"?
Carla · 61-69, F
@sunsporter1649 you do know that Cuba was full of elite and wealthy people prior to the revolution, right? Or are you really that under educated?
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla And, what happened to all those wealthy people?
monte3 · 70-79, M
@Budwick your evidence that trump tried to get daca passed? Oh yeah that’s what I thought. 😉.
Decently would be about the only behavior trump supporters would not tolerate from him.
Carla · 61-69, F
@Budwick no, I'm pretty sure he tried to tie it into some absurd bill, like funding for his fiasco of a wall.
It's all good. It's unfortunate that these people have had to live with uncertainty for four years, but they can breathe easy now. And...the few miles of new wall, that is structurally failing is being removed, the raping of the natural environment is halted, ranchers no longer worry for their water access. So I reckon all the noise coming from the right about DACA and that damned wall was a waste of energy and money, as it was all for naught.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Carla Well, you and the thousands of new, undocumented, illegals can have a big old party, right?

Are you gonna tell them that's there are no jobs before or after the celebration?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Budwick I'll tell you exactly what happened to them. They were made to work like average Joes in Cuba, couldn't stand it, got their arse on a raft and got a handout in America. But that's okay, because they're white. Meanwhile Guatemalans who are literally Mayan descended and seeking asylum are called "illegals".
Budwick · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 Do you think the timeline for all might be relevant there, Sparky?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@Budwick Look up the name basil fawlty , and you will be better able to understand what the intelligence level of the individual happens to be
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@Budwick which has what to do with anything? Because they were against "evil socialist" Cuba (that has no homelessness), some guy losing his rum distilleries is somehow worse than people fleeing murder from cartels and forced disappearances?

Speaking of Anti-communism, you guys should definitely be offering Argentines and Chileans citizenship, seeing as your foreign policy and CIA led to massacres and dictatorship there. Hey, you might not even complain about the Argentines as most of them are white.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 When you moving to that workers paradise?
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@sunsporter1649 and you have intelligence since when? You think all those wealthy white Cubans who came over on their rafts were saints? Ever heard of the Cuban mafia, dumbass? Thanks to Castro, at least the Cuban mafia was virtually erased from Cuba.

But your gist is - white dude escapes dictatorship, that's fine. Brown dude does it, we should separate him from his kids and deport him.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@sunsporter1649 I don't live on the US, firstly, and secondly I'd be more than happy to live in Cuba.

I'd get to watch you struggling with your Alzheimer's and getting no medical care while I get free healthcare and get to smoke a cigar and have some rum.

So just supply the plane ticket, I'll be happy to move there.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 And a partridge in a pear tree....
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
@sunsporter1649 but I thought you were so successful, and us other "socialist" countries (like South Africa with all its businesses it privatised since 2000) are backward. I thought this was a legit challenge to us "evil" lefties.

Paypal the money for a plane ticket and I'll move there tomorrow.

I'll make sure if you do to smoke a Montecristo No. 4 in your honour.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@basilfawlty89 As long as you buy into that bullschiff, you are welcome to it
