Should sport be and sports personal be involved with politcs

QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
Time to stop this insane jingoistic habit of playing the national anthem at local games. That shit makes burgers look even more retarded than they actually are.
@QuixoticSoul No skin off my nose - but while you are at it - tell that to every civilized game playing nation on the Planet - because ALL of them do it. If you are going to hide behind the word LOCAL - that's because they are just trying to mimic the pros.

@MarmeeMarch No, normal nations only do the anthem thing in high level international competition, and sometimes only for the winners or not at all. This is seriously just a bizarre burger tryhard habit.
@QuixoticSoul Could be and it also could be giving the lower players to someday be professional or at least look like it. It shows when the US always leaves the olympics with buckets of gold medals on a consistent basis.

And neither should preachers.

The world is political. Life is political.

You cant get away from that even in your favourite source of escapism.
The only time anyone seems to have an issue with it is when they don't like what they are hearing so it has more to do with people wanting to have their view parroted back to them.
I’m not. Most businesses don’t take a public stance. There’s a reason for that and it’s smart. Not everything is about politics. Sometimes we just want to get coffee. (Thinking of Starbucks, how they didn’t want or was reluctant to promote blm). @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow
@Spoiledbrat That is simply factually incorrect and wishful thinking. Companies that don't take a political stand are an anomaly. In current times not getting political (at least superficially) is bad for business. And sorry but yes everything is about politics. And expecting people to just abandon their politics in the place when they spend the vast majority of their lives is just unreasonable.
Not abandon them judt not push away customers. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

Sports shouldn't be involved with politics don't don't effect sports...

Sports personal should be allowed to state what they believe, but not actively politicking while on duty.

Of course, once that bottle is popped, sometimes you can't put it back in the bottle.
No. It’s not professional.

no people trust their dentist to put their hands inside their mouths and do not know or care who they vote for but turn to celebs and athletes to guide them it is stupid on every level what does a guy who can throw a baseball 100 miles per hour really know about the treaties we have or the economy
Sure! Get woke and go broke
And you love yours. Except mine are true and your are just Communist garbage. @PicturesOfABetterTomorrow

It is genius. Evil genius but credit where credit is due.

Trigger thousands of right wingers to rage retweet pics of burning shoes. Get all the media debating it. It would be worth hundreds of millions in advertising costs but you get it almost for free!

Then these RW nut jobs wanna go jogging and realise they need to buy something for their feet. 🤣

Meanwhile loads of black kids die in your sweatshops making your 'woke' product.

Politics of the spectacle. Meh.
@Burnley123 It was a stroke of genius. A master troll. But yeah, definitely evil genius in the long run.
