Socialism looks good backed by capitalist tax payer hand outs..
Take the jobs away.. see how long the freebies they think will last forever lasts..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout And capitalism works real good on the backs of a disenfranchised work force...start looking after the workers in society and suddenly there are a lot less billionaires...
@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Socialism is like standing in a bucket and trying to pick yourself up by the handle.

Capitalism: Don’t like your job? Pay is shit? Quit job, learn a trade, get a better job. Socialism: Don’t like your job? Too bad. Your choices are work camp or gulag comrade. @Mandalorian
@DukeOfEarle Both systems are just as shit as both ends of the political spectrum...and not one of the blind faithful from either side have ever had the good sense to understand and contemplate that fact!
@Mandalorian Capitalism is the natural and sensible thing. You earn and invest and create more wealth with the wealth that you have. Even Jesus promoted it. Matthew 25:14–30

@Mandalorian I do agree with you to a fault. Yes Capitalism does fuck over it’s workers. I’ve been in the trenches. I know. But I learned quickly those jobs were shit and I needed a skill. So I went to school, learned a trade. College? No. College just hoses you for the next half of your life with student loan payments. While Capitalism does suck at least you have options. Socialism? Mmmm not so much.
@puck61 No, Im sorry...Jesus was not plugging capitalism at all...at least, not in the way that the great advocates of "capitalism" in this age see it...
..the modern concept of capitalism is that everyone should strive to be at the top of the "pyramid"...which equates to nothing more that a "get rich quick" mentality.
Jesus's words you mention about economics are purely logical, but were in fact talking about spiritual wealth in a context that people could easily understand.
Acts 4:32-37
Acts 5:1-10
In the book of Acts you will find the early church sharing everything, and in fact one couple lost their lives because they tried to keep something back for themselves in profit...but the grand right wing Christians conveniently like to forget that part of the Bible!
...thats not socialism, and its certainly not communism, but those are the terms commonly bandied around by conservatives when they describe this...
...I challenge any Conservative to call those Bible verses Socialism or Communism!

@Mandalorian once you’re ‘redistributed’ all the rich ppls wealth..
Where’s the next lot of money come from?
Printing press?
Devalue you’re dollar to zero?

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout Don't ask me...ask Jesus and St Peter...I believe your beef is with their methods?

@Mandalorian This is interesting. I did not realize that people quote from the bible in favor of capitalism.
@Miram It is very common, especially among American fundamentalist conservatives...
