Spiked magazine are strawmam specialists. They are obsessed with the culture war and 'woke' takeover of society by 'liberal elites'. Its ironic given that they themselves are metropolitan upper middle class and also ex Marxists.
These days they are funded by the Koch brothers and very occasionally take a pause from trolling the left to write an article about civil liberties.
Trump supporters are more affluent on average than Democrats. Likewise the Brexit vote was mostly the middle class right and only a minority was working class support.
Brexit and Trump are supported by sections of the population but they are driven and controlled by a faction of the elite which cares nothing for wotking class people.
