Trump supporters: Why do you think Trump insists on referring to COVID as "China" or "Wuhan" virus? What is the benefit which outweighs the harm?

And if it were as simple as that then there would be no problem.
But as the WHO recognized, naming diseases after a group of people or country causes real-world harm to that group. They are targeted with violence, discrimination and economic repercussions.
Trump has been made aware of this so why does he insist on using this damaging language?

@Chelsiegirl You're missing the point entirely. We know the virus originated in China. The poster is asking why Trump keeps reminding us of this rather than doing something about it. Answer? He's hoping to whip-up anti-Chinese sentiment to boost his election prospects. It's working to a certain extent, but it won't be enough.

@Budwick Quite easily. The next step will be that he will claim that either the Chinese will rig the election and he will lose, or that he loses the election and will claim that the Chinese rigged the election against him. He will therefore have a scapegoat primed and ready.

Cue chaos, legal challenges, possible riots...and he stays in power throughout.

We anticipate election interference all the time.
It's nothing new.

As you well know, there is nothing fraudulent about mail-in balloting. It's been around since the civil war and I think there were like 200 convictions for fraud in over 73 million votes cast. That's like 0.00000001% of votes cast that were fraudulent.

Also, as you well know, the only reason Trump is trying to claim that mail in voting is open to MASSIVE FRAUD, is because it tends to favour Democrats.

Let's also remember that Trump has used mail-in balloting himself (fraudulently), and is perfectly happy to go on record saying that Florida has a perfect mail-in voting system. I'm sure the fact that Florida is a key swing state that contains millions of white, elderly voters who are MUCH more likely to vote for him has nothing to do with it.

Also, let's remember, if he loses Florida I don't think he could stand the shame.

The fact is, he will lose the election if it is held fairly (and that includes mail-in voting). The ONLY way he's going to win it is through voter suppression, and if that fails, claim the vote is rigged. Step forward, China as the guilty party.

Oh and by the way, you're right. It's not a good plan. The American people will see through it. He'll still try it though, you wait and see😎

Lenin - what has been proven is that Hillary engaged the Russians in a failed collusion effort to damage Trump.

As we well know, the potential for fraud is grown exponentially with mail in voting. I just downloaded a PDF 2020 general election ballot for Sacramento County. There's nothing preventing me from filling this out and sending it in.
