The cat received an application to register for mail-in voting.

To actually register to vote... you need a drivers license or social security number.

I buy stuff online in my dog's name so we can tell who is selling our information. Would he get an application to register... probably? Could he register... no.

@SW-User way to spoil the fun lol its the fact that the form was sent to not only a cat, but a dead one which is what is concerning it makes you worry about who/what else is on the list and who would fraudulently fill it in, with fake drivers licence etc.

Have you ever found someone has sold your info?

@Beautifullyderanged I belong to service that warns me when my information is on the internet.

The state will verify who you are so I am not worried about a false drivers license number. Fraud is fraud.

I won't deny there aren't cases where someone could vote at a previous residence. It's just not as easy as some news outlets make it to be.

@SW-User is that just a service for people in the US?

@Beautifullyderanged I'm not sure. My wife's employer's HR was hacked. So they purchased a service for her and family.

I get alerts if my phone number, email address, credit card numbers, or SSN are found on the internet.

It's not that concerning. A fake drivers license would not pass muster. They check the number.
