What "world" are they living in? Certainly NOT mine.

The president and the White House also boasted about the U.S.'s response to COVID-19, with Trump saying the country has the 'lowest fatality rate'
Press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said 'the world is looking at us as a leader in COVID-19'

He said he doesn't joke. This is one of his best jokes. Almost as big a joke as himself.

@nowic2 Yes he did say that contradicting his Press Secretary I think it was.
He is the joke and the world is laughing AT him not with him as he tried to portray after his absolute humiliation when they all laughed at him at the United Nations.

@Zoranna correct, he is incapable of self reflection & or restraint. Thick skinned regarding his lies. Thin skinned re how he is perceived. So where he can he has to think that others view him positively, powerful & never wrong. The only positive I can see is that he is definitely a good source of laughter.

@nowic2 He's definitely incapable of self reflection or restraint, and lying has become the normal for him so much that I think he's incapable of telling the truth even regarding the most minor of matters.
As for thin skinned about how he's perceived I think he's basically very insecure and NEEDS the adulation of his base and the sycophants he surrounds himself with to reassure him that he's not indeed a failure ... which he's proven he is, countless of times.
I hope he loses this upcoming election so much as I'm relishing the thought of how he'll deflect that. This is after all, in my opinion, a referendum on his presidency which has been absolutely atrocious.
There, said my piece rather "rant". lol

@Zoranna agreed, fortunately I only see it from a distance. To me his fan base is even sadder than he. See themselves as so sharp & smart. How can that be?
Unfortunately win or lose in November there will be more rioting & violence in the US.

@nowic2 I too am watching from a distance and I agree his base is sad, pathetic and quite unlikeable.
Unfortunately I think there will be too, but Trump is inflaming the issue rather than doing what any "normal" president would do and try to bring comfort and mediate with people. Those words are not in his vocabulary.

@Zoranna what's worse is when it happens he will blame the left & continue his inflammatory comments to exacerbate the situation
Zoranna · F
@nowic2 Without a doubt! That's part of his MO: taking personal credit for anything good that happens but absolutely NO responsibility for anything adverse. Despicable creature.

It can be, in my opinion, because our government has seemingly throughout history sought to divide us based on ethnicity, religion, color, occupation/professions, etc..
His supporters are often so pathetically uninformed and incapable of rationale thought you would pity them as you would a disabled person. In reality they are not bad people but it is always comforting to blame your lack of success on the Muslims, blacks, Jews, etc.. than accept the fact you have made mistakes, not worked as hard as you should have, made bad choices in life, etc. I do not hate or harbor any bad will towards his supporters yet I will not allow them to take the country down in flames either.
