Whether if you agree or not black Americans are owed reparations

Black Americans who are descendants are owed reparations not just from slavery but for the following: Jim Crow, redlining, inhumane experiments for war, inhumane experiments that were used to further medical practices, forced sterilization burning down our towns, racist propaganda in school books, the CIA causing the crack epidemic, and lastly giving reparations to former slave masters.

Sorry but I’ve never owned a slave and no one black person alive today ever knew a family member who was a slave. A payment for something that ended 4-5 generations ago isn’t happening. If it was a serious topic you’d go to the ancestors of the war lords who kidnapped and sold their own people to the Europeans in the first place. Slavery was a horrible time in American history, that goes without saying. However it was Africans who first enslaved Africans and in some regions of the continent still do to this day.

"Not my problem. You brought this on yourself."

What a stupic statement. They didn't remain enslaved because black people sold them. They remained enslaved because we actually wrote it into our constitution and supreme court rulings that they should be less than "real" people. @JesseInTX
Maybe they should sue their country. 🤨 @rhouse

@JesseInTX thank you for showing me that you can read
Is tgst all you got. They don’t agree so you insult them?? Pffft @Zenyatta
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@rhouse I never said they black population in America brought this on themselves. Nor their ancestors. If reparations were valid it should have been done when the freed slaves and slave owners were still alive or even their grandchildren. We’re up to 5 generations removed. Oh and again if you want to get paid from someone go to the source. The war lords who kidnapped, enslaved and sold those persons. That way people who had ancestors enslaved in Spain, Brazil, Jamaica, Portugal, etc. can get in on it too.

@Spoiledbrat that wasn’t an insult I’m stating the obvious
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@pagandad exactly. It’s not about righting a wrong. It’s about who’s got the most money and getting paid.
rhouse · 56-60, M
So America didn't keep the blacks enslaved? I can't argue with someone who is so ignorant of facts. Your racism is evident. @pagandad
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@Zenyatta I didn’t take your comment as an insult. My minor is in American history. I’m a history buff beyond that because I believe history teaches us not only what happened, but how to learn from mistakes.

@JesseInTX it seems that I have made an error. I meant to say. Thank you for showing me that you can’t read. Which makes me wonder either you did read the full post and chose to ignore my points and talk only about slavery just to take heat off white people or the latter. Either way it’s pretty scummy when you leave out how all the things that happened during slavery. Incredibly irresponsible
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@rhouse yes America did. Portugal did. Brazil did. Jamaica did. England did. Spain did. The Dutch were the largest purchasers of the African slave trade in the mid to late 1600s. Africa did, and still does in regions to this day. People who act like only America did are ignorant.
It’s just fucking ancient and people are getting tired of being blamed of something that happened a long time ago. @Zenyatta
rhouse · 56-60, M
You are corect. We are talking about America and her responsibility. @JesseInTX
Slavery was legal, hello where have you been. It’s not like they did something illegal. @rhouse
rhouse · 56-60, M
You are right. That is why the country owes reparations instead of individuals. Thank you for acknowledging that it was America that was wrong. @Spoiledbrat
JesseInTX · 51-55, M
@rhouse wow. Might be the most ignorant statement I’ve read or heard today. Why is the black population clamoring for this in all the other countries? If you want to sell your home and liquidate all your assets to make a payment to say I’m sorry for something my great, great, great, great grandparents did then go ahead.
rhouse · 56-60, M
Yes. I want my contry to right the wrongs that she has done. If you feel otherwise, I hope you don't consider yourself an American. I want Americans to be on the right side of justice even when it costs them. @JesseInTX
They did. There is no slavery. There is no segregation. Many many many Americans are sympathetic to your cause. I’ve had just about enough of this bullshit. Signed white person who’s never suffered injustice . @rhouse
I am as American as they come. Stop bullying people who didn’t do anything to black people. @rhouse
rhouse · 56-60, M
I love that you signed off with "white person who's never suffered injustice." That is an accurate statement. Unfortunately no black person can say they have never suffered injustice. @Spoiledbrat
You’re so intolerant and judgmental especially since you don’t know me. Boy I have a lot of nerve. @rhouse
@rhouse I’ll just keep saying you don’t have a clue because that’s all I have.
rhouse · 56-60, M
That truly is all you have. You have lost the debate and you know it so sign off with "that's all I have".
@Spoiledbrat
rhouse · 56-60, M
@Spoiledbrat You say "Boy, I have a lot of nerve." Do you understand that you are refering to yourself in that statement. How much have you had to drink?
