Do the working class conservatives know capitalism is counter to the teachings of Jesus ?

Capitalism sees no color of skin; no ethnicity; no religion or nationality

It also has no conscience, morals or loyalties

It is colorblind to Red,White and Blue and recognizes only the color of green.

Capitalism is neither good nor bad but it is fair and rewarding to the talented…

So the good and faithful servant was given money and he went out and made more money with it. The second faithful servant was given money and he went out and made money with it. The third unfaithful servant buried the money he was given and did nothing with it. He was rebuked for not even putting it in the bank so he could earn interest with it. Jesus was sounding pretty capitalist to my mind.
Matthew 25:14-30
Jesus was not a socialist.

@Qwerty14 Well it is obvious to one and all that you have no understanding of Christianity and think that it supports socialism in accordance to your economic degree/indoctrination. The parable that Jesus gave applies to you too. Drop your socialism and get to work. Become the best man you can become. Don't try to run other people's lives. Don't try to impose your silly idea of an economy on humanity. You aren't smart enough to do it.
@hippyjoe1955 It makes me laugh that you keep bringing up indoctrination considering you've been brainwashed your whole life by the US government to hate socialism. The bad Russians. Who btw were Stalinist then Trotskyist, not socialist. But you can't even see the difference because you've been so indoctrinated into the US propaganda machine. Am I wrong?

@Qwerty14 If you think my faith is based on any indoctrination you would be dead wrong. I was a proud atheist until I began to doubt evolution. Then one warm summer evening I was walking across some virgin Canadian short grass prairie. No one was near me. I hadn't talked to anyone in hours. As the sun neared the horizon I spotted a small white rock standing just above the prairie wool. I have no idea why but I felt the need to kneel there and in the following few minutes Jesus became more real to me than the rock I was kneeling beside. I started my walk a confused atheist. I concluded my walk a confirmed Christian. I went to a local Christian church a few days later and spoke to an elderly pastor. He explained I had been born again. He then took me down to the local river and baptized me in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. About a year later I was sitting in church waiting for the service to begin and I was looking at the cross on the wall behind the pulpit. Suddenly there appeared a luminescence that seemed to be pouring down from the cross. It walled up along the dais then like a dam broke it poured out over the congregation. It was truly awe inspiring. I had no idea what I had witnessed until a few months later I read an article about the Shekinah Glory. My walk in Christianity has been one of revelation preceding education.

I would argue that it is rewarding for the driven. Many people of talent will fade into the night never discovered or rewarded for their ability. It is those who are driven who are rewarded even though they are not as gifted as others.

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whoever I want. I decided to marry my horse.
I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies’ profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 18% isn’t.
I voted Democrat because I’m not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can’t tell us if it will rain on Friday can tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don’t start driving a Prius.
I voted Democrat because when we pull out of Iraq I trust that the bad guys will stop what they’re doing, because they now think we’re good people.
I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would never get their agendas past the voters.
I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
I voted Democrat because I’m way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my ass that it is unlikely that I’ll ever have another point of view.
A Liberal is a person who will give away everything they don’t own.

Capitalism is the true evil of the world. It is fair to the few who live on the backs of the many
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@IstillmissEP Sweden isn't socialist. It is capitalist with an excessive welfare state that is about to be trimmed back because there isn't enough capital to run the welfare programs.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Qwerty14 Let me put it this way. I live in a province that voted socialist. Within a few months unemployment spiked and real incomes dropped. Sadly this province didn't observe the facts that 40 odd years ago its sister province voted socialist. At the time both provinces had about the same population and the same level of income. 30 years on the capitalist province had 4 times the population. It had Billions of dollars in the bank. It had the lowest rate of poverty in the country. It was sending Billions of dollars to the province next door to help it survive. To this day you can drive across the provincial boundary in a border city and notice the difference. On the capitalist side are new houses, new cars, lots of businesses. On the socialist side are run down houses and a ton of vacant store fronts. Those businesses still operating on the socialist side are old and look run down. You should seek a refund on your economic degree. You were indoctrinated not educated and you aren't smart enough to know that. Sucks to be you.
@hippyjoe1955 They taught me how to exploit the system and get rich. That's all business degrees are. A way to use capitalism to your advantage. Fun fact, you do it by being an individualist and stepping on everyone else. The model doesn't work and it sure as hell doesn't help the majority. In fact, under capitalism you'll never see more than 10% of the world financially stable. Are you really comfortable with that?

Did you know that Jesus encouraged people to spend and invest wisely; to be good stewards?

The "Parable of the Talents", in Matthew 25:14–30 tells of a master who was leaving his house to travel, and, before leaving, entrusted his property to his servants. ... Upon returning home, after a long absence, the master asks his three servants for an account of the talents he entrusted to them.

And so on. Even the servant that simply held on to the money was admonished. Even he didn't think of simply redistributing the wealth!

Sure.👍 Money matters.
basilfawlty89 · 31-35, M
Except it's not again, as shareholders get the bulk of wealth and often inherited their wealth and shares. That takes neither talent nor skill. Meanwhile the actual workers such as engineers, scientists, etc make a fraction of the profit.
