Shall I go over to the USA and paint the White House black?

The only reason it is white is because the Canadians burned it down. Before that it was brown. To hide the damage the Americans did what they could to hide the fire damage so they painted it white.

@hippyjoe1955 I was not aware of that.

@Sidewinder The war of 1812

@hippyjoe1955 That's going back a bit.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@BijouPleasurette A little while. Still historically accurate.

@hippyjoe1955 "The building was first made white with lime-based whitewash in 1798, when its walls were finished, simply as a means of protecting the porous stone from freezing."

@wildbill83 No it was the brown house. After it got burned it became the white house. The Americans lost that little war quite badly.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@hippyjoe1955 nope, it's always been white. You're confusing the white house with the Pennsylvania mansion that Washington & Adams stayed in while white house was being built

@wildbill83 Don't indulge the liberal delusional society.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@wildbill83 It wasn't even called the white house until it was reconstructed. Before that it was called the presidential mansion.

lol... yep, we lost so badly that despite being against Canada, Britain, & Spain; we managed to invade and torch York (modern day Toronto) and inflict massive damage against a superior force...

meh, tired of arguing with dumb canucks...
BijouPleasurette · 36-40, F
@wildbill83 @hippyjoe1955 OK, that's enough. This is my post and I'd rather you didn't argue on it.
