Do you remember when.......

Campaigns were positive messages about one's candidate and not negatives about the opposition's candidate? I don't. My sociology professor told us about it but I don't remember it.

Nah lol I was born in 1995 and didn’t start paying attention to politics until 2014.

Your professor must have been smoking something. As far back as I can remember, my vote has more often been one of I can't vote for that person rather than I want to vote for someone.

@GERRI but, to some extent, the messages are on target considering who runs for office. I was taught that it is can honor to serve, that doesn't seem to be the motivation any more. The goal to develop a "great," and "fair," society, had disappeared.

@samueltyler2 do you have any examples,, of any campaigns running negative ads,, not the 3rd party super-pacts ------- Clinton was the first election i remember

@GERRI I remember the anti-Goldwater ads, that could have been the mushroom cloud. How about the one about Willy Horton, there are so many, but it is late at night and I am old. I bet you can "google" it.

Well... There may have been less agitation, but even Lincoln's opponents used deplorable tactics.
