Americans Overwhelmingly Oppose Defunding the Police

We've also learned that 'Defunding the Police' means;
'Defunding the Police'. Initially, leftists led by BLM and antifa tried walking back the ridiculous concept saying stuff like 'We want to redirect funds from policing to other community resources like social workers.' Which of course is the same thing as 'Defunding the Police'.

Later it was discovered in the New York Times that 'Yes, We Mean Literally Abolish The Police', according to the author of the leftist policy, Mariame Kaba, a Soros alumnae.

Meanwhile, a list of demands have been written by the rioters. And, leftist leadership are actually considering negotiating with the terrorists holding Seattle hostage.

And, as one might expect, since the terrorists are being tolerated in Seattle, riots are exploding in other parts of the country. I suspect we'll see more capitulation by local democrats, more sections of cities taken over by terrorists, more sudden resignations of police and police chiefs, and more demands made by terrorists.

This no longer about George Whatshisname. It's about dismantling law and order, erasing America.

It's yet another unprecedented challenge for American people, for national leadership to unravel, repair. It becomes crystal clear that no one on the left is capable or even willing to take on the challenge, Thus far, their response is to negotiate surrender which is not an option.

President Trump is the ONLY one with the courage and stamina to take on this problem, to restore law and order and get back to the business of Making America Even Greater.

I look forward to hearing what you have to say.

Extremists want the police gone, citing Camden as an example (although Camden's "police" have re-unionized and it's still one of the most dangerous cities in the nation). More left leaning folks want police money given to social programs, unaware that 90%+ of that money will end up in the "general fund."

@IstillmissEP That's Baltimore in a nutshell. Police stopped trying after the city stopped having their back, so lot of crimes never make it to the record, if they get investigated at all. Nothing to do with the threat of brutality, merely the fact that it's not worth protecting people that want you dead.

@raysam363 It isn't "police money" it is tax payers money. Why would it end up in the general fund if it were allocated elsewhere?
raysam363 · 31-35, F
@Dominus Ah, you should pay more attention as this isn't even a conspiracy. Many allocated funds have fine prints that allow the controller to put the money wherever they please if they feel they have a reason. The reason can be as simple as, "Because I said so." It's not a nice reality, but it is real.

In a story scrubbed pretty thoroughly from the internet, one of the commissioners of the Maryland lottery quit after she found out that the millions that were supposed to end up in schools ended up in the general fund. She made a big fuss about it, but even a lot of local media was told to not report.

In business terms, it's a cookie jar. No business should have a cookie jar, but they all do.

@raysam363 State and municipal governments operate under completely different rules. I know a governor can transfer funds provided their legislature approves of it. Within a city it is not as easily done or unnoticed nor is it as common. Even at the state level it varies by state as I do remember Maryland(I think it was) passing legislation forbidding the governor from transferring funds between programs or agencies.

@Dominus Yeah, but have you seen Maryland lately? The people in power follow the rules that benefit them. Hogan has done his best, I'll admit it. But one good egg won't magically improve the rest. In the city here though it's nothing but no-bid contracts and mysterious missing funds.

You would think that with all the transparency that politicians would stop pulling this off. But you also wouldn't think that ex-mayor booted from office after stealing gift cards would have ranked so high in the polls.

@raysam363 I reiterate I was referring to local/city/municipal police departments and not state police departments.
raysam363 · 31-35, F
@Dominus I mentioned both state and city, levels of corruption and fine print exist in both whether you believe it or not.

@raysam363 okay, sure
