How can republicans claim to be the party of Abraham Lincoln and defend their “confederate heritage” at the same time?

It doesn't have to make sense the people who vote R are illiterate or rich. The illiterates are disenfranchised and want the government to be destroyed. The R party always give to the rich at the expense of the middle class. In their minds Trump is doing an excellent job.
