I know this may be hard to believe, but most of these rednecks that love their confederate heritage aren’t racist and hate slavery just like the rest of us. The confederate flag is most often referred to as the rebel flag. This is the ideology that these people cling to. They aren’t concerned about the reasons why the confederacy seceded from the union, it’s the fact that they did, that they gave a big middle finger to the federal government and said fuck you we will do what we want. Rednecks actually have a lot in common with groups like BLM and Antifa but I think the media and common ignorance from all parties keeps them from seeing common ground and joining forces. They value freedom above all else, not just for themselves but for everyone. These rednecks are some of the nicest, most considerate people who would help anyone, no matter the color of their skin. We all need to focus on what we have in common, and quit letting others drive us apart.

It’s not patriotic to wave the flag of a nation you went to war against. @zerofuks2give
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@NenaRussa 🙄ugh the ignorance :/ Y’all don’t want to hear me you just want to dance
NenaRussa · 26-30, F
No, I heard you perfectly. You said they cling to the ideology of seceding from your country and going to war.
To say the media is the reason why confederate flag wavers can’t get along with BLM sounds stupid, even to someone not from the US. @zerofuks2give

@NenaRussa that is 100% not what I said, strawman. You are obviously too engrossed in your own personal opinions that you can’t have a rational discussion and actually learn something. But that’s just it, you don’t want to learn. You want to remain ignorant and hateful because that makes you feel something. It makes you feel powerful and in control. Which is just the opposite of how you usually feel; weak, anxious, helpless and scared.
I’m out. I hope you find some peace of mind.

@zerofuks2give The most charitable explanation is not knowing the facts.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie that’s half true. they’re Mostly uneducated. But the confederate flag symbolizes something entirely different to them than it does to others. It’s similar to the swastica. To most of the world it’s an evil nazi symbol embedded in hate, prejudice and death, but before the Nazis adopted it, it was a positive and holy symbol for many different peoples.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give Yes, before the Nazis adopted it. But now?
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie exactly. But with southern rednecks they did the opposite. They took a symbol that should, by historical means, represent hatred, and they adopted it to their ideology to represent freedom and fighting for your beliefs. But most people don’t want to try to understand that, they would rather label them racists and hate them than try to understand their point of view.
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give I appreciate your explanation, but I think at this point if they didn’t want to be associated with it, historically or currently, it’s time to put it away. And fighting for “your beliefs” In then1860s meant defending the rights of states to keep slavery legal. And now they vote Republican...so it goes...
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie what’s something that you believe in, that you hold dear?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give hmmm, not sure the context, but let’s start with the basics...my immediate family.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie Are you married? Do you have children?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give yup.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie Do you have more than one child? Did your parents have more than one child?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give counselor, I’m going to ask where you’re going with this. If you want to make a “kinfolk” case, I’m game.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie Hey, you’re on the witness stand, you’re not the judge LOL answer the question
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie And I don’t even know what that last statement means LOL kinfolk?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give I’m pro bono so so get to object. Relevance!
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie well I’m going to assume you believe it’s your right to have as many children as you want. It was also your parents and your grandparents right, your “heritage”. Now let’s say in the near future society and the government deems it unnecessary and irresponsible to have children for the sustainability of the planet. It’s not illegal but has been accepted by “society” as the new normal. Will you rebel? Will you defend your heritage? Societal norms change constantly from decade to decade. Do you believe in personal freedom? Do you buckle to society and settle in? Will you fight for what you believe in?
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give I appreciate the point, but yes, I am making a judgement call in terms of right or wrong. I understand why a common Southern man would fight with his tribe by the way. That would be very unusual, although I would have found it admirable.
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie 🤷🏻♂️ It wasn’t a good example but I’ve been drinking so.... it’s just a flag, a piece of cloth. They aren’t rioting in the streets demanding to reinstate slavery. They just want to do what they always do, drink beer, watch nascar, hunt and be left the hell alone. That’s all I’m trying to say
Fukfacewillie · 56-60, M
@zerofuks2give lol, I’ve had a few beers, too. I’d probably have more fun with them than my wine drinking friends...cliche but true. It is just cloth and it hurts a lot of people with reason, which we underhand why, so yeah, let’s retire it. Time to move on. In any event, you’re a good guy. Cheers!
zerofuks2give · 41-45, M
@Fukfacewillie thanks. You too
NenaRussa · 26-30, F
Your exact words.
100% not what you said?

@zerofuks2give Originally the swastika was not an evil symbol, until it was adopted by the Nazis. Unfortunately for the Confederate flag, it has been adopted by many white supremacist groups as a symbol of White Power.
