Sweden is a pretty good example of a socialistic democracy. So is Finland, Japan, Singapore, Denmark, and Switzerland.

@BlueMetalChick I don't mean to be pedantic, but it is important - it's a social democracy, it isn't socialist at all.

I refuse to surrender to right wing American twisting of language to try to imply all the evils of communism and traditional socialism with the very democratic and free countries that make up almost all the most successful countries in the world (9 of top 10 countries in the Human Development Index are social democracies.)

@BlueMetalChick Ah ok, I see your intent. The term "socialistic" actually means following socialist principles, which social democracy doesn't.

@Abstraction That's where the shortening of the term comes in. Unfortunately, political theorists are bad at naming things. Not that I can criticize; we scientists are pretty fucking bad at it too.
