So, people blame Trump for 86,000Covid 19 deaths.

There are 318,000 deaths total. Who is responsible for the rest 🤔

good point. trump is not responsible for every covid-19 death in the USA, just those that died because of his delay in pushing testing and social distancing. There will be academic papers estimating with precision the number of deaths that can be attributed to Trump. But it is likely to be years before we know for sure.

@BiasForAction Eat your allotment of ice cream like a good little boy
@sunsporter1649 I did have my allotment of ice cream today, actually.

Sorry if my statement contains inconvenient truths, like a pill that you must be forced to swallow. Now take it like a good boy.

@BiasForAction That's where his responsibility starts, but he's far from alone and I honestly understand to some extend. Locking down the country is a huge step, and though it should have happened early, most leaders hesitated doing so in time, so it would be unfair to blame him for that more than the rest of the world.

Two things make him unique though: his second biggest mistake was to deny the danger for much longer than any other leader and his biggest mistake was calling citizens to force their local government to open up completely instantly. The damage of that is what counts the most.
@SW-User I make no claim about what trump has done wrong or right on pandemic response. I just note that history will judge his presidency for it and there will be better information available someday to make a determination. But it will take years to know for sure.
@sunsporter1649 I made no claim about trump's pandemic response. I simply do not know if he acted in a timely enough manner. It will take years to sort this all out (after the virus runs its course), and history will judge the trump presidency on his actions. Somehow I think a WH-produced advert is not likely to be seen in retrospect as an objective assessment.

@BiasForAction Hindsight is always 20-20, we have to live today
@sunsporter1649 true, unless we are dying today.

@BiasForAction Yep, determining the extend of the damage will take time and Trump definitely caused more damage than other leaders. I'm only saying he shouldn't be blamed for all damage equally because some of it was understandable and happening all over the world. That doesn't mean he shouldn't be blamed for that part at all, but it weighs less than the damage he caused uniquely.

@BiasForAction Then stay under the porch
@sunsporter1649 Why do you think I am against opening up the economy? is your brain so dull that it cannot fathom someone who thinks trump had done a bad job at pandemic response but also thinks we should open up the economy? Grow some grey cells, and stop making assumptions about what others might think.

@BiasForAction I wonder if someone will take a swing at some kind of Damages claim against him over this? After he is out of office of course. We will be looking at 100K plus fatalities and thats a pretty good class action.
@whowasthatmaskedman such a class action suit will fail and it should fail. Every president makes decisions that result in premature deaths. It is the nature of the job.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman That will happen the day after we see barry big ears in an orange jump suit
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 Okay.. For your benefit, lets say you dont understand the difference between civil law and criminal law.
The remedy in that case is NOT jail. Its damages. Thats how they got OJ in the end. Because the judgement can be rendered on the balance of probabilities, not beyond reasonable doubt... So, to bring it back to terms you can deal with. If it quacks like a duck, swims like a duck, looks like a duck and tastes good with Peking sauce, thats good enough, Pay up..
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman So barry big ears should be made to repay the Treasury for the millions that it cost the taxpayers for the bullschiff he put the country through?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 Sure. As soon as Trump collects back all the millionaire tax cuts he gave away. I dont mind you being this stupid. It does make my task in pointing up that stupidity easier. But if you can do better I am up for the challenge.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman When you figure out how to provide income tax cuts to folks who do not pay income taxes let us know
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 Ask me a hard one. Lower sales tax. provide extra funded services.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman The President of the United States is responsible for sales taxes?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 Thats why I put in the other option. How about a $1000 credit toward Health insurance for everyone?
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman Who is going to pay the insurance company that $1,000?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 That is where the "stimulus" money could have gone. And done some good at least. Of course. Rejigging the health insurance system from the ground up would have been preferable. But no way thats going to happen in the land of the freebie and the home of the corrupt, with every business wanting a piece of the action.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@whowasthatmaskedman If one can purchase auto insurance across State lines, why can not one buy health insurance across State lines?
whowasthatmaskedman · 70-79, M
@sunsporter1649 Dont ask me.. Its your fractured system. The easiest thing in the world is to issue a Govt backed single policy attached to your social security number (or any other Federal ID.) And have services billed to the Federal GovT. But that would mean the govt oversight that The pharmaceutical, medical supply and insurance industries dont want and no one gets to skim off the top. Other countries do this succesfully.
