Did you ever meet a strawman you did not love?
The media that does not report to the White House, or Fox (same thing really), is reporting on the story, as it develops and as information becomes available. There are, however more urgent issues, such as the economy and a pandemic that killed more than 80,000 Americans.
There's also the additional problem, of Tara Reade. She has a team of lawyers, publicists, and helpers, who are making her available, exclusively, to Fox News, and she refused to accept a non-scripted interview. That makes it a bit difficult to investigate. Every non White House controlled media organization tried, and they're keeping at it.
Sexual assault is not about quantity, it's about whether it actually happened.
It's really very simple: Tara Reade can file criminal charges. Legally, she can, and she should insist on it. After all, the accusation is not that he made some suggestive remarks, dropped hints, masturbated in a flower pot in front of her. It's that he raped her.
This is the only way we're going to get to the bottom of this. The DOJ is NOT going to move on its own. This should give you a big enough hint about this case. Biden, has requested that the Secretary of the Senate release all information related to this case that's in the Senate records. They can't comply with the request, because they need Tara Reade's permission to do so, and she has not provided it. That should give you another hint.
I would certainly love to get to the bottom of this. If Biden is a rapist, he's a rapist, and there's plenty of time left, for the Democrats to pick another candidate, even if it happens during the convention.
Facts of the case aside, Tara Reade is being handled by the Trump PR machine, and they are NOT going to allow an investigation. Their strategy is very simple: without an investigation, there would be no grounds for a Biden replacement, by the Democrats, and this accusation can float, until November 4th 2020, and on November 5th, Tara Reade's "team" will disappear.
