I don't trust any media whatsoever

Never trust the main media! You get more truth in the comment sections of news websites than you do in the stories they post

I don't know about all that "truth" in the comments section either.
@JaggedLittlePill: yeah but there's lots of different perspectives. Instead of just one agenda driven journalists
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
I've checked four different polls now to get an idea of which candidate is winning the election and all four said things very different. I trust none of them.

and i just saw that a computer programmer admitted under oath that he rigged the software to favor a certain result...

I learned not to trust them back when Nixon was president. It's all about selling advertising, not telling the so-called "truth".
booboo · M
god no...cnn just admitted on the air that they are basically campaigning for clinton..

@JaggedLittlePill: What you say will not persuade me, nor what i say persuade you. So I refuse to engage in any online "debate", for it will only cause anger and division..I simply answered the question with my opinion based on what I have seen, that's all..and like they say, opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one..be that as it may, for whoever said never discuss politics and religion was a wise person..

@JaggedLittlePill: Most of the press Trump is getting is negative. While the media protects Hillary. IF they talk about Hillary's lies, they make excuses for her.
@JaggedLittlePill: Are you joking? The Podesta e-mails have barely been mentioned by the media, CNN even went as far as to say that it's illegal for anyone but them to read those e-mails.
If your right, then you must be able to give me an example of some of the bad coverage she received over those e-mails.
Also, he can be as big of an asshole as he wants to be, it still can't compete with the overwhelming evidence brought to light recently concerning her criminal conduct. Especially the stuff about Saudi Arabia and Qatar funding her campaign, which is by US law a crime....

The president of Fox News has said" The truth is whatever people will believe ".
i don't. my dad is a retired politician and they were constantly making up stuff about him for sensationalism. some of it is true, just be careful what you believe. always be a critical thinker.

Hell no, she's part of the media. On election day she'll probably say it's a nice day to get out and vote for Hitlery!

Largely. I say that meaning I don't believe media seeks to disseminate fraudulent or untruthful information.

Yes, they skew stories to garner the best ratings possible. Media has gone from journalism to entertainment. That said, if you can't see the occasional bias and correct for it, you probably shouldn't be listening to media.
Hi Oconner ... media moves observations, occassionally facts ... they have a responsibility to move the info along in context, no more

But media also does filtering and prioritization

Done well, it might be good

Done wrong, it is worst than no news

It is abundantly clear, filtering, priorization and context have bias .. intentional or unintentional.

Much bias is simply local bias ... For example; NYC, the biggest news hub ... they are cool people, but they have a different bias than Des Moines Iowa or Clearwater, FL

As soon as any bias enters the filtering, prioritization or context process ... all news becomes doubtful.

NYC has a reputation for promoting liberalism ... should we be surprised that some of that bias creeps into the news? ... nope

Should we then trust the media? ... nope

@questionWeaver: I don't disagree with you. Journalism could be taken at face value much more purely in earlier times. But every region will skew to its concerns and perceptions, and each station in that region will do the same. Add to that the need for ratings that never used to weight so heavily, and the stories of the day and their true importance is anyone's guess.

I can say I absolutely despise the fact that unverified, partial input information and pure conjecture pass as news these days. By placing "What if" in front of any headline, it makes news and no one can cry foul. It's a disgrace.
@Oconnor: yes it is ... we stop reading ... then somebody quotes a "what if" ... like it was a fact ..
And we all look at one another like ..."that guy has been drinking again"

Lol ... I have no suggestions, just disappointment that folks take "news" at face value

They have never been trustworthy but 90% of people are totally clueless about that.

I stopped trusting them long ago. I realised each one of them has its own agenda, and do not care about the truth.
But lately it is obvious that the main papers and tv channels all over the world follow the globalist/multucultural agenda.

I find this debate rather absurd. So would you believe the fringe media? They are even worse.

The mainstream media largely tries to cover all issues. Is the coverage always balanced? No. But they do show both views, and there are serious and good journalists out there who can be trusted.

Is Fox news trustworthy? No. Is Chris Wallace trustworthy? Yes.

I trust everyone and everything
Isn't that the definition of naivety?

Would not go so far as calling them crooked.

But, one bad engineer, means we look at all the other engineers carefully, requiring second opinions.

It is no different for the media ...

Not since the 80's when it became a popular mouthpiece for dodgy businessmen.
