Nursing homes aren't equipped or staffed to provide that kind of treatment. Shame on him for his disregard of the nursing home resident. What he did was the same as releasing a fox into a chicken coop. Hopefully people will wake up and stop praising him for his management of the crisis. IMO. His management was a miserable failure.

Why do you want to send people who don’t need to be in a hospital to a hospital? That is bad for everyone.
The real answer is to have middle-step quarantine facilities, whether as its own system or part of the nursing home one.

@MarmeeMarch No, only a small minority, and over 80% of those die anyway.
But that minority can mean a lot of people when cases spike, which leads to an Italy scenario where there are not enough to go around and docs have to decide who does, and doesn’t get a chance to fight for it.
Thankfully NY never got there, through they were pretty close when the effects of social distancing measures started to kick in.
