why was it okay for Mike pence not to wear a mask to the Mayo clinic?

Both the President and the Vice President have tested negative. They do NOT have the virus.

Wearing the types of masks that are available to the public will not protect us from getting the virus.

What the masks do is protect OTHER people, when you cough, sneeze, wheeze, laugh, or any other activity that spreads the virus through droplets from your lungs.

Since the vice President tested negative, he knows he can't infect anyone if he sneezes or coughs. And as long as he stays about 6 feet away from those who might actually HAVE the virus, he is pretty safe and will probably not get the virus from his visit to the clinic.

@4meAndyou unless they're testing often, one test doesn't mean you're virus free forever. He should have a mask on and follow the guidelines.

@4meAndyou Yeah so he coughs or spits a few drops talking and it shoots to someone else.. He's putting others at risk. Especially if they're wearing a non N95 mask.
Unless he tested right before he went to the Mayo Clinic he doesn't know if he has the virus. Not wearing a mask puts others in jeopardy.

@HannahSky Well, if you honestly believe that the vice president of the United States is not tested thoroughly and far more often than you or I could dream, and monitored by the white house doctor, and his temperature monitored, then I would say that you have departed from what is probably real into fantasizing.

@HannahSky Everyone who is admitted to the press room is temperature scanned, Prez and Vice Prez included...but if you want to disbelieve, you will...and it really doesn't matter a bit what I say...or what anyone says, does it?

@4meAndyou I surely hope they are, but they've never said they are. The press, probably, they're not a part of the admin. Even if you don't have a temp you can have the virus 🤦🏼‍♀️
