What do you think about people being so nasty to each other because of political opinions?

I think it's just so ugly and pathetic to see people be so hateful and genuinely wish harm on others just because they have a different opinion about politics. It's ugly how every election for the new POTUS is like the civil war all over again.

If someone is a Trump supporter, they're immediately trash in my book. Not sorry.
@DearAmbellina2113 There are a few Trump supporters I like. I try to ignore it. But I totally understand your thinking.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@DearAmbellina2113 That's a very narrow minded way to look at life.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Are you even listening to this nutcase? Trump is a total loon. Go ahead and inject disinfectant into yourself if you trust him so much.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@Tastyfrzz Have you ever seen me say that I think Trump is a good president or I trust him? People like you are exactly what I'm talking about.
Tastyfrzz · 61-69, M
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic There are times when one can be open minded but this is not one of them. [media=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tf6f6EdZsRg]
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@Tastyfrzz Still that does not warrant you to be nasty to people who disagree with you.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic that's like saying "Yeah ok he's a child molesting rapist Nazi. But still, you're a bad person if you call him trash!" 🙄
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@DearAmbellina2113 That's entirely wrong. That's a strawman argument. This is about a chosen political leader, who people vote upon and not opinion on child molestors.
DearAmbellina2113 · 41-45, F
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic jokes on you...old Trumpy IS a child molester.
@DearAmbellina2113 Is he really?
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@DearAmbellina2113 Still doesn't make you right. Your country decided to make him a candidate and a bigger majority chose him. A person is not just their political opinion and unjust hatred isn't helping you either.
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Actually, 3 million more people voted for Hillary Clinton than voted for Trump. He did NOT have a majority or plurality of the vote.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@quitwhendone Then why is he the POTUS?
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic It is the way our electoral system works. Electors are distributed by state. Whoever gets the most votes in a state, gets all the votes for that state. It's winner take all.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@quitwhendone Ah, I see. Because it'd get too complicated to have every individual vote count.
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic The system was designed over 200 years ago to make states more important than individual citizens and state populations. 🤷‍♂️
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@quitwhendone Over 200 years? So basically as the country was being formed by the founding fathers?
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Exactly. That part of the constitution hasn't changed. What country are you from?
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@quitwhendone Small country in Europe that was formed around the 7th century
@DearAmbellina2113 Agreed. That’s how I view them, too. They might as well admit to being a Neo-Nazi or Klansman, because it’s the same basic ideals.
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic Do you live in the U.S. now ?
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard No, but I've been generally interested in the US for a while and have some general knowledge about it
@DrSunnyTheSkeptic But clearly not the type of understanding you might have if you lived here and had experienced some the history. You’re looking at it as an outsider, without context.
DrSunnyTheSkeptic · 26-30, M
@bijouxbroussard Multimedia is hell of a thing, I probably consume as much US media as you.
