@sunsporter1649 The acts of sailing or motor-boating, the moment you're doing them on your own, are perfectly safe from a pandemic prevention perspective, of course. We all agree on this.

The problem is that if everyone goes out, for a reason or another, it'll be impossible to prevent "gatherings" (even minimal, such as crossing path with your neighbor), and authorities will have a much harder time preventing actual gatherings from people who simply decided they're not giving a f*ck. Which is why lockdowns are tight. Plus, you want to keep hospitals as free as possible, and minimizing accidents out of home, in particular on the road, even if in a little way, helps.

@Elessar Michigan is already a hot spot, hence these measures. They have the 4th most cases in the country, and 3rd highest number of deaths - almost 2k so far.

@QuixoticSoul There is this pattern replicating worldwide, which involves a more or less small group of people (here it was industrialists and tourism entrepreneurs - far more influential politically than these idiots) that refuse the lockdown for being too strict, and only cause further damage and the need not only to put up even stricter measures later, and also to keep everything locked down for longer.
