Trump has been the greatest president we've had in my lifetime - maybe ever.

It's very likely. I'm not a die-hard liberal or anything, but it's hard to imagine the history books treating him as anything but an aberration. His blatant lies, political incompetence, and socially tone-deaf attitudes are no longer surprising, but expected.

As much as I try to remain objective when discussing politics, this is one instance where I can't think of any good arguments to support the legitimacy of his presidency.

Only if he starts a war with Iran. Trump's policy is terrible, but it's hardly an aberration from the norm. The president before him fucked up the Libyan state and levied a specific tax against the poor, and the president before [i]him[/i] killed 200,000 people for no reason and deregulated the banking industry. The only reason why Trump gets singled out as the big problem is because he's the only president who deliberately trolls his rivals and says ridiculous things.

He's a colossal failure as president, and history will show he was the worst president the US ever had.

I'm in England so maybe I'm not best placed to comment on American politics - I saw an interesting news report a couple of days ago, however, about how Trump has one eye on the Covid-19 Pandemic, and the other on the Presidential Elections. Trump's place in history - like with any other leader really - will be determined by whether he is elected for a second term.
