Universal income and free health care.

Since America started printing money of no actual physical vaulue everything monetary has become a complete farce. Numbers on a screen. Put numbers on everyone's screens 🤷 fuck it 🤷 same principle as just printing money.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Paliglass Universal basic income and national healthcare?! But that's communism! We're Americans, and we have FREEDOMS, including the FREEDOM to die of preventable diseases!
@BlueMetalChick
yeah the repukes say unamerican like it's a bad thing.
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@BlueMetalChick I know, that's why you voted Reagan in 40 years ago and don't have free health care already and you're still frightened of the same thing now, like you say, you want your freedom to die poor without care. Y'all crazy lol
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Paliglass I make that joke all the time lol where I pretend to be some loudmouth neocon who thinks everything good is "communism" 😂😂
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@Paliglass How can healthcare be free?
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@StrictSouthernHOH because you're gonna pay for it.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@Paliglass Then it's not free. The money comes out of someone's pocket. Whenever the government spends money, it came from people like you and me.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH "How can it be free?"

Do you ask that about any other "free" program? Do you ask that about the fire department or public schools or the police force or the roads?
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@BlueMetalChick he just likes to hurt people and make sure they don't have a hospital to go to so I think he personally has to pay for the whole thing now 🤷

@Paliglass Well let's wait to see what his reply is. Perhaps he will give us insight into his opposition.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@BlueMetalChick I don't consider any of those programs free.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH Then why would you consider healthcare free if it's funded in exactly the same way? What makes socialized healthcare different than socialized roads or school systems or emergency services?
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@BlueMetalChick When did I say healthcare was free? One way or another, we pay for the healthcare we receive.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH If you didn't question the concept of it being paid for then why did you ask?
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@BlueMetalChick I did question the concept. That is why I asked how healthcare could be free when there is always a cost.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH The term "free healthcare" is a shortening of "free at the point of service." It still costs money, like everything does, but because it is collectively paid for by all citizens, it is free at the point at which you use it. Just like when you have to call the police or when you have to drive your car on the highway. You paid money for it in the past through taxes, but at the moment in time when you choose to use it, you do not have to pay any money. But since "free at the point of service healthcare" is nine syllables, it's been shortened down to "free healthcare" by many.
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@BlueMetalChick It was also shortened to "free healthcare" to give Democrats one more way to "buy" votes :).
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH I highly doubt that. Calling it "free healthcare" has a negative connotation and people don't like the sound of it cos it sounds like a scam. Like when companies offer you a "free gift" for signing long term contracts.
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@StrictSouthernHOH so you think healthcare is a scam and want to stop it but your government robs oil and gold etc and it's ok you still have no healthcare and they think about buying Greenland. That's ok to you.

I thought you kept your guns for this precise reason but nope you all just lay there and take it up the ass while your government makes fools of you all.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@Paliglass Our taxes are funding two genocides right now actually. One of which has killed 100,000 children under the age of five. From starvation. We starved a hundred thousand kids to death.
Paliglass · 41-45, F
@BlueMetalChick and that's more important than healthcare.

I'm gonna boycott American products and avoid America as a place.

It's not much, one person, but I can't do anything else 🤷
StrictSouthernHOH · 46-50, M
@Paliglass From whom does the American government rob oil? Where is all of this oil hidden? My healthcare is excellent. I have no complaints. Law abiding antisense who own guns do so for hunting and personal protection. Criminalizing gun ownership, in addition to violating our Constitution, would do one thing: it would ensure that law abiding innocent Americans were defenseless against the well armed criminals who aim to harm us.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StrictSouthernHOH
My healthcare is excellent. I have no complaints.
Yes that's nice, good for you. Unfortunately that isn't the case for the majority of the country. The United States has the highest number of uninsured citizens, both as a raw number and as a percentage per capita, of any developed nation on Earth. An average of 45,000 Americans die annually because they cannot access basic healthcare. Yippee that you have good healthcare and are happy with it. We're focused on the people who don't.

Now on the subject of gun ownership, lemme provide you with an example of where gun legislation is needed. When I was 15 years old, and an undocumented immigrant by the way, I was allowed to purchase a firearm for cash money with no background check and no waiting period. I walked into a gun store with a wad of cash and walked out with a semiautomatic pistol. I wasn't even asked for an ID. I support the legality of gun ownership and I think they should be available for purchase, but THAT shit is absolutely absurd. Wouldn't you agree?
