So the US government is bailing out an industry literally based on tax evasion.

Cruise lines register in countries like the Cayman Islands to evade corporate taxes but guess who's taxes are going straight into their pockets now?

Actually, cruise lines register under foreign flags to escape the overbearing costs of using American union labor
@sunsporter1649 Ummm using wage slavery is not exactly a noble thing. And this has been going on before unions were even legal so it has always been primarily a tax evasion scam.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow You mean its been going on since 1794?
@sunsporter1649 Hey Genius. The Knights of Labour didn't exist at all until the 1880s and the AFL the first real union with any clout didn't exist till 1924. The Pinkertons literally created a business out of terrorizing labour.
@sunsporter1649 I know the working class are your favorite boogeyman though.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow "The first labor union in the United States formed in 1794. Since then, union membership has grown considerably from the small group of shoemakers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania who were the first to organize."
@sunsporter1649 Yeah because a small anomaly in the cobbler industry is so relevant to cruise ships. And government and hired goons were murdering workers till about WW1. You really need to brush up on history dude. The US has had one of the bloodiest labor fights in the developed world.

@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow My parents were from Pittsburgh, before WWII my Father worked for J&L Steel, and National Tube, and I worked in a couple unions, as well as being a manager over a unionized workforce, so I am well aware of the inefficiency and waste that comes with unionization
@sunsporter1649 Then you are just proof there are no worse fanatics then a convert.

That may be another reason but all of the reasons are to increase net profit pay no taxes and provided shitty service. You’ll never catch me on one of those floating landfills. @sunsporter1649

At your own peril my friend. Would you want to be on one of those ghost who’s not permitted to dock anywhere? @sunsporter1649

@jackjjackson I have survived 70 years of democrat party incompetency, I shall make it thru this, too
@sunsporter1649 Apparently you lived 70 years without learning a thing.
@sunsporter1649 Age doesn't equal wisdom.
