Why do Trumpansies think we didn't see them calling COVID-19 a hoax for weeks?

Do they think we're all as stupid as they are? Are they just embarrassed?

I think it's the former, since conservatives do not have the ability to feel shame, remorse, compassion, or many many other emotions that are typically found in humans.
