I can't see the auto industry relaxing the fuel efficiency rules, I know Ca has announced any auto maker who doesn't meet the current standards, they will not purchase their cars for state use.

@independentone Plus, most automakers would prefer to be able to sell internationally, and not every nation is as backwards as the US.
