UK Polictics

OK I know over the decades all polictical parties have had thier idiots or strange party memebrs but how did we end up with a government with Johnson, Rabb, Gove, Grayling, Davis, McVey, Leaderson, Villers, Cleavery.

and that's just the government side.

So does anyone have any ideas how we got into this mess?
Oneofthestormboys · 100+, M
Because they know what to say to brainwash the masses. Not me though. I’ll never believe someone with a privileged background and private schooling. These people can’t possibly be able to relate to a normal working person like me.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Oneofthestormboys That's so very true how can someone who's never had to worry about the next pay cheque or the next mortgage payment or when the bank statement arrives, living on a set income with no other income.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Oneofthestormboys Well put and hense why the papers support the tories and never really critisise them like they would labour
@fairefoutre oh ok well many start as cheap labour and some remain that way. Especially in this current climate. Its not enough for two parents to work fulltime. Everything is rigged against working class.
Greed, media promoting the Tories, fear mongering & brain washing people to vote for a political party they wouldnt normally vote for.
I hope all the idiots that voted for Boris see that hes in it for the money. All hes did since he came into office is go on breaks. Hes going on a break amid this Virus. J.C stood his ground when he was being treated like a virus. The problem in this country is people like false promises rather than face reality.
Tories marginalize the poor sick elderly & dont pay proper minimum wages all this zero contract hrs should be stopped. People should not be asked to pay huge deposits for houses as private renting is expensive. Many things wrong...
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Cutiepi23 yes so very true

yes he just thoguth being PM would be like a jolly boy's outing but he's actually found out it isn't and showen yet again as when he was forigen secutery he isn't up to the job.

He is quiet cleary way out of his depth, has shown he doesn't care about the people with his stupid hearding idea

he wanted the job but then can't go and face the people when they need ansers or even leadership

Yes I rememebr how opposed the tories were about zero hour contracts and in 10 years have they done anything...... no if anything increased them

tory employment ideoligy sack a full time employee and then employ 4 zero hour people to do the same job

well the genral idea for renting was it should be cheaper than buying

Like now with the tories totally ignoring the private renting sector
Oneofthestormboys · 100+, M
You’ve only got to look at our honours system to see how warped the whole thing is.
Someone knighted for being a self-serving greedy git dressed up as “services to the financial sector”. It’s total rubbish.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Platinum I think the honours list should actualy have people who deserve it like you say NHS workers, but also maybe Firemen, Police, Judges, Cleaners, Supermarket workers, Amy, navy, airforce workers.

Instead of the inhearted system or the last PM putting forward who he:she yhinks deserves it.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Nyloncapes Yes that's always made me mad when these so called top level fit athlests say they are too tired, i mean you never heard footballers who were pised the night before saying that.

Its no different to the eaton mess lot tryign to udnerstand how real people lvie, work and pay bills.
Platinum · M
@milkymum1 all the nhs deserve knighthoods...I hope they get something nice done for them when this is over...they need free parking and an increase in wages .....I like me and you being nice to each other....stay safe and your kids
Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Yeah. Somebody told a lie about Europe that the majority believed and now here we are.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Picklebobble2 like farage wanting to stop freedom of movement but when ordered to stay at home doesn't like his freedom of movement taken away from him!!
Platinum · M
Best PM we have had who is dealing well with the worst thing that has happened since the war.....you mention Tory names but the labour front bench read like a bunch of village idiots....the virus aside , this government is doing very well...
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Burnley123 The tests have been ordered which is a huge difference in being on thier way!!
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Platinum Yes ALL polictions do lie but have a limit to how much they lie, also how can you say the hearding is good its complty disgusting you beleive in that, also the sdhare of voted for the tories went down at the last GE buyt because of how the voting system is set up the tories got more MPs.

As for leaving the EU have you not seen all the panic buying and the lack of goods in the shops, this is the pre-run for leaving the EU and it WON'T be good for UK business, do tell me how?
Platinum · M
The panic buying has nothing to do with brexit....geez....that is up there with the most stupid comment anyone has ever written....@milkymum1
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
A lot if it is down to brexit. The people you mentioned were all part of the vote leave campaign before they became the government.

I also think that that the media in this country give the Tories an easy ride. They ignore or downplay scandals etc. For ecxample, if a labour minister ever did a job as bad as Chris Grayling, it would be a national scandal, instead of a joke.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Burnley123 Yes well put the Eaton mess bregade

that's so very true look at his time as Mayor of London

yes I wasn't a fan of JC but I did like a lot of his policies and he is certianlly one for the people, everytime he speaks he speaks for the people

yes that didn't help the papers went full out to brainwave people against JC
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@milkymum1 I joined the labour party because of corbyn, just so you know, and i campaigned for him.

I always knew he had weaknesses as a politician but i agree with what he stands for and trust his integrity. The British peolple rejected that though and we are all gonna suffer because of that decision.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Burnley123 Good for you hun, well done.

yes he's never been the polished poliction but that made him (for me) more apealling to listen to

yes he certinally speaks more for the people and he has made the tories listen and basically take on labour policies, the same polices they said would ruin the coutnry!!

yes far too many beleived the tory papers, the bbc, etc, etc

i know some who have been hurt by the bedroom tax, universal credit who said what choice have we got, in a way i undertsnad that as were i live its either tory or lib dems get in and thats where our voting system is broken first past the post doesnt work!!
Nyloncapes · 61-69, M
Just think we could have topped up with Dianne Abbott that joke of a politician in a high position job she is useless
Burnley123 · 41-45, M
@Justme264 I completely disagree. Read the mcdonnel article.
Justme264 · 70-79, M
@Burnley123 Sorry - I have listened to McDonnel time after time on tv and radio - and also when he had to stand in for Corbyn who would never turn up to explain himself. These two and Diane Abbott lost the election for Labour and always will - Johnson only won it because of them and Farage.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Justme264 what also lost it was the tory papers, the bbc being a tory propogander machine but certinally abbott and McDonnel didn't help the situation but could you imagine if it had been a labour MP who had wasted all the money Grayling had, or the mess ups by Rabb, or the lies by Gove or boris the tory papaers would have had a feild day.
Nimbus · M
All down to public apathy really.

People would rather watch Eastenders that be involved in politics.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Nimbus sad to say maybe your right

the sheep tend to watch the soaps or the daytime chat shows
Justme264 · 70-79, M
By allowing the 3 main parties to isolate the common sense brigade in each party - thus we end up with the names above and we lose the

Alan Johnson
Vince Cable
Philip Hammond

types

There sre so many others - and they have all been marginalised

milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Justme264 that is so very true, it seems like the sensible ones in all the parties are the strange ones now.
Much like the Trump government it reads like a setup to a joke.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow yes it seems the same on both sides of the atlantic.
@milkymum1 Could be worse. I don't see Nigel Farage anywhere.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@PicturesOfABetterTomorrow ha ha he's still sitting at home moaning he's had his freedom of movement taken away 😀
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
Frustration over "Brexit not getting done"?
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@PhilDeep No I've just never known so many idiots in one party before

As for Brexit getting doen that will take years
PhilDeep · 51-55, M
@milkymum1 I'm with you, not with the idiots.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@PhilDeep yes unlike Platinum on here who thinks its brilliant !!!
Ryannnnnn · 31-35, M
Failure/changing of the labour party including their stance on brexit mostly.
milkymum1 · 36-40, F
@Ryannnnnn Yes they seemed to send mixed messages over Brexit and have tried to stay loyal to how the party is run even with a leader who isn't popular
