Will Covid19 give us a cashless society

therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
Only the young dummies would embrace a cashless society. The majority of young dolts would be more than glad to exist under a leftist totalitarian police state and relinquish their personal liberty, all in exchange for a little convenience.

A generation brought up by leftist google and raised by a cell phone has already stamped their time card for a future of slavery, they couldn’t care less about what real freedom and liberty mean. And more importantly what is required to preserve and sustain individual liberty, something so many men and women gave their lives for in the past.

When you exist in a google world and are allowed to be indoctrinated by google and their fellow leftists in colleges and the media, you lose your ability to think for yourself.

No, I won’t participate in that
No, we don't have the ability to go 100% cashless.

@HootyTheNightOwl technologies will develop quicker if we are in a kind of war footing!
@Marganitbatadam Technologies are great... if your population is young enough to know how to navigate them. Over here, they moved our welfare system online and we now have people in their 40's, 50's and 60's trying to grapple with technology that they've never had any reason to use before.

If it's like that for people aged between 40 and 60... can you imagine how the 70+ year olds are going to feel when you tell them that you can't accept their cash??? Yes, there are some people who still can't manage to pay for a car park ticket via an app.

@Marganitbatadam too great a chance for government intrusion and electronic theft .

I dont think so.

Ive said that we will all have to convert to sone kind of ww2 economy but it wont go that far.

During Ww2, the state took on much more power in the econony but property rights and wealth remained mostly intact. Too many powerful people have too much to lose. You you can see the pending state takeover as more about saving capitalism than communism.

Having said that, if things get really bad then there might be rationing or aspects of a pre capitalist economy such as bartering.

Don’t know. What I do know is the Bible tells us there will be a cashless society... BUT when it happens is in his hands...

I think people with underlying health conditions will have to give that some thought.

For example, covid19 can live on hard metal surfaces like...quarters...for up to 9 days. If you have such a health condition, or if you are elderly, will you have to wash all the quarters you get from the bank before doing your laundry? Or let the rolls of coins sit there for 10 days before using them?

Food for thought.
Can't remember the last time I used cash to be honest

let's hope not. Far better with money than plastic.
DeWayfarer · 61-69, M
Not possible. Even some business still insist on cash. Rural as heck... yes. Yet the technology just isn't there to do otherwise. And likely never will. So money will have to be around.
Niburu · 51-55, M
as of now you would need to qualify for a bank account, that would leave millions out of the cashless loop
therighttothink50 · 56-60, M
@Niburu Technocrats don’t care about bank accounts, just put an electronic chip in everybody’s finger, that’s their ticket to complete control and a full blown Orwellian and Huxley police state, a leftist globalist’s wet dream.

You mean like raiding stores and other people's homes for pristine toilet paper?
Graylight · 51-55, F
No, but get ready to our dollar to be as strong as the peso.
Steve42 · 56-60, M
That's when we will know the end is nigh.

We must resist it
