Has the capitalist experiment failed the people just as the communist one did?

Here's the thing. We're a capitalist economy in much the same way we're a democracy government when, in fact we are a republic.

America is a nation of consumers, not capitalists. The capitalist run giant organizations. These are the men and women for whom most of the nation works, adding to their profits and endeavours but not their own. However, we are the consumers of the goods. Therefore, capitalism remains as elusive a pure economic design has does communism.

@Julieeung Irrelevant, really. It's not a question of how readily capitalism is achieved here, it's who actually participates.
