Is Bernie being straight with his followers?

I just heard a young man saying that Bernie is not a socialist...that his brand of socialism is more like that used in the Scandinavian nations. I wonder if any of Bernie's followers will ever learn that Denmark is fed up with Bernie using them as an example of how socialism is so great...stating that they are NOT a socialist country.

And Sweden, another of Bernie's "models" is moving away from being a welfare state because that is not a sustainable model.

Bernie Sanders is a radical social democrat not a socialist.

It seems Americans are all really confused between the two definitions and so many right wingers love that confusion because it allows them to say Bernie likes the ussr or Venezuela. (See the comment you gave best answer to for an absolutely classical example.)

I think Sanders use of the Scandinavian model is otherwise accurate though. It's isn't socialism but it does reflect his policies.

@Burnley123 Bernie is an Independent. And he has been a socialist ALL his life. He began by protesting the cold war with Russia and spent his honeymoon there.

If what you say, above, is true, then why do Bernie followers speak as though they are Pol Pot communists?

Double speak, or pretending you are just all good when, in fact, you are lying, is what Bernie does. But he will not fire Jurek...will he? And Jurek is telling the truth about what Bernie really is.
