Have any Democrats read the opinions or watched the Youtubes of James Carville?

He was the Democrat Strategist for the Bill Clinton campaign. He makes a lot of sense.

I haven't seen the YouTube's yet, but I saw some quotes from him over the weekend and he makes sense, like he usually does.

@MistyCee He says that the Democrat Party is well on it's way to becoming an idealistic cult, and he says that HE does not want to belong to a cult...and he says if the Dems keep heading in the AOC direction they will lose and lose big. Paraphrasing of course...
@4meAndyou I more or less heard about losing big if they head in the AOC direction, but not the idealistic cult stuff.

I do think the Dems need to go after mainstream issues that more people care about, i.e., try to stay (become) a majoritarian party, and I'm concerned that if they don't, they'll be playing right into Trump's hands, both in terms of not appealing to some voters and by inspiring increased turnout from others.

That was the Clinton strategy (Bill, and to a lesser degree Hillary), but its a tough one for Democrats this time around, and I think the folks most well suited for getting it across have problems.

At the moment, my personal favorite ticket would be Budigieg/Klobuchar, but we'll see how the votes come out, and I'd, of course, still vote for any one of them over the incumbent.

Just my two cents, but even an ultra-left President is not likely to get anything passed through Congress, but this impeachment vote has me really worried down the road.

@MistyCee "Idealistic cult" is in the Washington Post article. IMO the Blue Dogs need to get the party back on track and get rid of AOC and Omar and Tlaib.

I was listening to coffee shop interviews in NH this morning, and one woman said she did not like any of the Dems. When asked why, she says all they do is argue with each other, and they don't seem to care about doing things for the people.
@4meAndyou [quote]all they do is argue with each other, and they don't seem to care about doing things for the people.

That's a really big problem for Democrats, and I think the clock is running in terms of time to pick a leader and start putting out a message. The thing is, AOC and Tlaib aside, most of the Democrats on stage (Bernie and maybe Warren aside) still have plenty of solid common goals and seem to mostly be arguing about how to accomplish them and who can do it, as opposed to actually differing on ideology.

Having said that, keep in mind, the infighting should stop as soon as someone jumps far enough ahead, and with the exception of Biden, they're all benefiting from not being the front runner and being the subject of a unified Trump/Fox/Russian/China,etc propaganda campaign. As soon as they do, Barr can let leash the DOJ, and Hannity, Ingraham and Carlson can all join in with Trump in spreading rumors and innuendo, etc, which worked really well with Hillary previously.

@MistyCee I don't think the Democrats should be the only party using opinion and propaganda...and only 10% of the news media supports Trump. I would also prefer that you not use the word Russia in the same sentence as "Trump". It's a false association, and I know you are trying, in your way, to be fair minded.

I was VERY disturbed when I heard from my friend, who is dying of lung cancer, that ALL of the VA hospitals in Massachusetts play nothing but CNN night and day. We already know that CNN is paying airports nationwide to play nothing but CNN day and night...and now they have taken over the VA. So...propaganda? Opinion? Certainly not news as our parents knew it.

Biden...don't get me started. Fatalism is setting in...OR he knows the fix is in and feels he doesn't even have to try. I just don't want that creep Bloomberg to be able to buy the Presidency.
@4meAndyou Bloomberg has me concerned as well, frankly, but for what its worth, I see plenty of Fox in airports down here, albeit I'm seeing less and less news of any sort and more and more of the Weather Channel and ESPN.

@MistyCee They should make that the rule, quite frankly...because the Paranormal channel is more believable than some of our news. 😂 Personally, I want to see more of the Food channel...Restaurant Impossible..24 Hrs to Hell and Back...😂
