SF’s appalling street life repels residents — now it’s driven away a convention

San Francisco loses major convention, Oracle's OpenWorld, to Las Vegas, citing the unsafe conditions, a loss of an estimated $40 Million. Ya think miss Nancy even cares?

Not entirely true, is it? The motivating factor was price. For less money, the convention gets a brand new, state-of-the-art convention facility located in the number one convention destination in the country. Street conditions where a secondary consideration and applied only to the area around the hotel in which the convention was to be held. Good try.

@Graylight You keep believing that. In the meantime, grab your broom and start sweeping the shit and needles off the streets

@sunsporter1649 Okay, I'll go with that and the released statement from the organization itself in its own typewritten words.

I do my part to keep streets free of those who don't have to live on them. What do you do other than gossip?

@Graylight LOL, we know, San Fran is such a clean and orderly city, no problems there, nothing to see, move along

@sunsporter1649 Look, your millionth reply that addresses absolutely nothing above it.

@Graylight You keep insisting San Fran is such a wonderful city, when the entire world knows different

@sunsporter1649 No city is without its problems. You can try to fix them at their root or you can stand around pointing and shouting to the sky.

San Francisco, not that you've ever seen it, is gorgeous, progressive, filled with the arts and education. It's geography is stunning and many people dream of retiring there. You choose, however, to take a temporary social ill and overlay the entire city with it. You know nothing about the area because you've never been to the area. Do us all a favor and keep it that way.

@Graylight Still printing your poopie maps?

@sunsporter1649 Yes, take a money-making venture about a temporary societal issue and pretend as though one city has been defined by it for all of existence. First, understand what you're talking about, because you sound ignorant as always. Secondly, you don't have to argue this point. We're not selling SF to you. We don't care if you ever see it. We don't want you there. You are the kind of blight that make the city burn just a little less light. Stay away.

@Graylight I first visited San Fran in 1969, and when I was flying dropped in many times. Between young ladies being gunned down on the streets by illegal aliens and piles of manure and needles in the streets I can assure you I have no interest in revisiting, just feel sorry for the people there and what a dump the city has become
