Kids shouldn't be allowed to pick those screwed up majors,
daisymay · 51-55, T
@MarineBob So, you are staunchly anti-First Amendment?

Seems and odd thing to be with your fake persona of uber-patriot, ex-Marine, small business owner.

Weird.

@daisymay why letting kids pick a career in something they can't work in
daisymay · 51-55, T
@MarineBob So, you ARE against the First Amendment, then? It's a very simple question.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@daisymay hell, I love freedom of speech and religion

@MarineBob
I love freedom of speech
Obviously not, since you want to ban people from taking certain courses when they go to college. That would be infringing on a person's freedom of expression, which has long been held protected under the First Amendment.

@daisymay I also think that all student loans should be paid within 5 years
daisymay · 51-55, T
@MarineBob What does that have to do with your dreams of an authoritarian system that assigns fields of study to college freshmen? Let's just stick to the fact that you are against the First Amendment and how it makes you a bad citizen.
MarineBob · 56-60, M
@daisymay pick their courses better
daisymay · 51-55, T
@MarineBob Yes, yes. We get it, you're a bad citizen and not a patriot.

Are you confused about the difference between a major and a career? Because I have news for you - hardly anyone pursues their major as a career, and this absolutely goes for the "good" degrees too.

From example, from OSU's physics department's page:
It's important that you understand the career options available to you as a physics or engineering physics major. Common job titles for physics and engineering physics bachelor's degree recipients include:

Accelerator Operator
Applications Engineer
Data Analyst
Design Engineer
High School Physics Teacher
IT Consultant
Lab Technician
Laser Engineer
Optical Engineer
Research Associate
Software Developer
Systems Analyst
Technical Specialist
Web Developer
Half of those don't even have anything to do with physics - and that's pretty normal. Finance companies also tend to be stuffed with physics majors.

You undergrad is rarely about your career, that's not the point.
