What motives does a 73 year old man have to continue in an office that is clearly not his forte? If he is as wealthy as he says and as troubled as he seems, what would be his reasoning?

@windinhishair I've watched clips of his rallies. And I've read the responses of his adoring fans. They talk of how energizing and informative those rallies are.
I can only hang my head and sigh. My mother used to watch news reels when a certain german man was able to charge a crowd like that. I trust her comparison.
I also think he is afraid if he steps down, there will be state charges that he cant be pardoned for.

@Carla I doubt that he will step down when he loses the election next year. And he will exhort his loyalists to violence in his name.

@windinhishair I've seen them. And can see the similarities. But to talk to someone that was experiencing them is almost real time is enlightening.
You can see by the responses here that his cult is completely gone. I feel certain, if trump loses, he will encourage them to do atrocious things. And many will. He will not shed blood, his cult will. And our democratic system is strong enough that any uprising, brought on by insanity, would be quickly thwarted.
I dont want to think about the implications of another trump win.

@Carla I can imagine that anyone who was witness to the Nazi atrocities and rise to power must be absolutely appalled to see the same thing happening in the US now. The implications of a Trump win by cheating are apparent--there will be an end to democracy and a new era of rule by force and intimidation.
