Is This Ironic Or What?

In The Peoples Republic of California they have regulated and taxed gasoline allegedly to encourage people to stop using fossil fuels and use electric cars instead.

Then, they turned off the electricity!

California is Exhibit A of why leftists should not have any kind of power or control.

@SW-User Yes, you might end up with a massive world-significant economy, a nexus of technological progress, the source of much of America’s worldwide cultural impact, and one of the few donor states into the Federal tax system 😂

That would indeed be terrible, we need more low-productivity pork-fueled red states.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SW-User As the state burns to the ground and the people are cooking in their powerless homes, the congressional delegation is busy on a witch-hunt. "The public be damned."
SW-User
@QuixoticSoul Or you end up with a state with streets full of homeless people, human feces, trash, and diseases not seen since the Middle Ages....to say nothing of the rolling blackouts. Democrats do such a good job keeping things in order don't they?

@sunsporter1649 I know, impeaching our president for imaginary crimes because they lost an election three years ago seems to be the dominant thing on their mind.
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@SW-User Yeah, they do all right. Red states have hookworm etc too - and are economic failures on top of it.

Since when are republicans concerned about the poor anyhow? Bootstraps, etc.

Californians is just better than the rest of the country when it comes to the American values of capitalism. It’s why we make and you consume.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul LOL, ignoring the latest jobs report, eh?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 Man you’re just off in the clouds today, even more so than usual.
JoeyFoxx · 51-55, M
@QuixoticSoul I have a question that maybe you could answer for me and for some of the other folks that are here to learn.

If the homeless problems in the large cities in California, Oregon and Washington are such a concern for the rest of the country, can you explain why leaders in cities from the rest of the country are so willing to pack their homeless problems into buses and ship them here?

King County in Washington has some of the best per-capita support for homeless and drug use, but it continues to be a worsening problem because we offer these services to folks who never established Washington as their permanent residence.

I would think that if other cities from around the country actually gave a shit, they wouldn't do this, unless of course there's a strong belief that it's done better out here.

California is impeaching him, too? Cool!
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@JoeyFoxx It's obvious that rightoids don't actually give a shit about the homeless 🤷‍♂️

Most of California's homeless are homegrown though, it would be nice to blame busing, but that's not really why things are as they are. But the spectre of the idea is definitely a problem for any municipality or state looking to do something concrete about the problem - everyone is afraid of becoming a magnet.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul Another one who has not read the latest jobs report
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Not sure how you can point the finger at dems since they’ve been totally in charge. Kind of captains of Titantics. @QuixoticSoul
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul LOL, homegrown from Baja California, right?
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 The jobs report 😂

Silicon Valley unemployment is at 2.7%.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul "Give a man a fish, and he eats today. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for life." The goddamndemocrats prefer giving a man fish
SW-User
@sunsporter1649 And having taxpayers pay for that man's "free college" too.
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@SW-User "Free everything for everybody!"
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@sunsporter1649 You're discussing the outstanding juggernaut of the US economy and you're bitching about democrat handouts 😂

Silicon Valley unemployment is 2.7%. Who is giving who a fish?
SW-User
@sunsporter1649 At the taxpayer's expense!
daisymay · 51-55, T
@SW-User
At the taxpayer's expense!
You seem very concerned about making sure taxes aren't used frivolously. What's your take on using them to facilitate the personal enrichment of an individual?
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
You apparently aren’t even giving minnows and worms to the homeless in SF and LA. @QuixoticSoul]
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson And yet your whole argument on this topic is that they exist due to the local governments giving too much to the homeless 🤔
sunsporter1649 · 70-79, M
@QuixoticSoul "Give a man a fish, and he eats today. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for life." The goddamndemocrats want to just give away fish
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
My argument is the dems and dems alone caused and continue to cause it and be ok with it. @QuixoticSoul
QuixoticSoul · 41-45, M
@jackjjackson I see. And republicans cause under performing economies, widespread food stamp eligibility, and reliance on pork.

@sunsporter1649 Love it - you two are oscillating between "starving homeless" and "spoiled homeless" so fast it's creating an interference pattern 😂

Low performing functional socialists will keep whining about fishing - and California will keep on making money, and keeping this country at the top of the heap.
