Here's Why Trump Will Win In 2020

I predict that Trump is going to win his bid for a second term as President. The scenario I envision, is the following:

Democratic primaries/caucuses are over and done.

Bernie comes in 3rd

Bernie supporters accuse the DNC of playing favorites throw a tantrum fit, and either vote-in Bernie, or some 3rd party candidate

Trump gets about 35% of the popular vote, but like Clinton on his first run, ends up with the electoral votes needed to win the Presidency

During Trump's second term, two more Supreme Court vacancies will be filled with Evangelical-blessed judges, and the Handmaiden's Tale, edited to include only Aunt Hilda's perspective, will be mandatory reading for school children, from pre-school up.

Anyone looking forward to this scenario?

JFC. Stop with the negativity. Is this possible? Yes. Probable? No. The Prez is justifiably unpopular. I think whoever is the Dem nominee will win.

Let’s be Fonz cool even If our preferred candidate doesn’t win the nomination.

@luckranger71 If Biden gets the nomination -- which I think is less than a 50% chance but it could happen -- Trump will probably win again for the exact same reasons why he won in 2016. Trump will screech about how crooked Biden is and he'll be 100% right, and that'll resonate with the people, unfortunately. Trump will pretend to be anti-war and anti-corruption. Boom, 4 more years of the annoying orange.

@BlueVeins I’m not going to worry about any specific scenario at this time. If people don’t like Trump, they should campaign for whoever the Dem nominee is, period. Biden would be about my last preference as Dem, other than Tulsi Gabbard. I’d vote for both in a heartbeat over the Prez.

@luckranger71 Honestly though, the differences between Biden and Trump are fairly minimal. Both candidates use their offices to enrich themselves, wage stupid wars that kill civilians, suck off giant corporations, and skull-rape the environment. The only issue where we can reasonably predict Biden doing a better job is social justice, but Trump has a couple leverage points on Biden like redoing NAFTA and organizing minor prison reform.

@BlueVeins Sorry, but there’s a million ways any Dem would be better than Trump, which would take pages to get through. Suffice to say, if you care about the act of voting, and the ability of all to access that right in a meaningful fashion, that is the primary rationale.

All the other concerns you listed would be better addressed by a more representative Congress and court system; impossible under a modern Republican administration.

@luckranger71 How so?

@BlueVeins follow the SC decisions on gerrymandering and the insane setups in places like North Carolina and Wisconsin. A vote for Republicans on the federal level is helping to ensure the Supreme Court and federal judiciary protecting unrepresentative districts and continued outsized conservative representation vs their numbers in the general electorate.

@luckranger71 President Obama stayed largely away from the Dem debates, but he's very active on the gerrymandering front.
