Here's Why Trump Will Win In 2020

I predict that Trump is going to win his bid for a second term as President. The scenario I envision, is the following:

Democratic primaries/caucuses are over and done.

Bernie comes in 3rd

Bernie supporters accuse the DNC of playing favorites throw a tantrum fit, and either vote-in Bernie, or some 3rd party candidate

Trump gets about 35% of the popular vote, but like Clinton on his first run, ends up with the electoral votes needed to win the Presidency

During Trump's second term, two more Supreme Court vacancies will be filled with Evangelical-blessed judges, and the Handmaiden's Tale, edited to include only Aunt Hilda's perspective, will be mandatory reading for school children, from pre-school up.

Anyone looking forward to this scenario?

Bernie needs to do a much better job than he did in 2016 in terms of supporting the Democratic nominee, as do Democrats and Republicans who don't want to see the US fall apart completely.

I'm far less worried about Evangelicals on the Court than I am about the gutting of all three branches of people loyal to the Country as opposed to the Trump regime.

@MistyCee I don't know if you saw the news in the past hour or two, but Republicans stormed House Committee Meeting Chambers to prevent today's testimony by Pentagon official Laura Cooper. They had to be forcibly removed by Capitol Police.
@windinhishair Yeah I saw Scalise and his bunch of thugs getting tough like the Boss told them to. Unlike Schiff, I think that stunt actually deserves censure, but I doubt that its in anyone's interests to pursue it.

I would like to see a bit more publicity about the fact that Republican committee members are sitting in and asking questions, though, to help deflate all this moronic deprivation of due process/witch hunt crap that Trump is spewing.

On the brighter side, I do agree with Ackerman that Roberts ought to take his job seriously once it gets to the Senate.

@windinhishair Cool!
About time those leftist fucks get challenged.

@MistyCee That's the thing. Trump's Adoring Loyalists seem to think that there are only Democrats in the room during the secret hearings. But it includes both Republicans and Democrats. I agree that fact should be more publicized, not that it will make a difference to his cultists.

It is important that the data gathering process be thorough, and secret, so Trump cannot tamper with the witnesses. Republicans had similar sessions led by Trey Goudy on Benghazi. So it was A-OK with Republicans then. The real issue is that Republicans know that the truth is in the process of being revealed, and having no good outcome based on the facts, they have to make it about the process.

@Budwick Your Nazi tactics won't work this time. The truth is coming out, and Republicans better be prepared to either support a proven criminal, or the nation. The choice is yours.

@Budwick I'll put you down for supporting Der Fuehrer instead of the nation.
@windinhishair The cultists are going to scream witch hunt no matter what, but the flip side of witness tampering is nailing down deposition testimony to prevent it from changing at trial. Unless Trump changes course and decides to unload documents, this one is shaping up for a testimony based trial in the Senate.

@MistyCee An impeachment proceeding and trial needs to be based on witness testimony as well as documents. It should be done very precisely with attention to the facts, because the consequences are immense. I don't doubt that evidence requested by the various subpoenas already issued has been destroyed by Trump, and he's lined up those close to him to lie on his behalf with promises of pardons made. But there are others, like those being deposed in the House, who know the truth and will testify on the truth. Even if the Senate votes to keep Trump in office, it needs to be made clear through the evidence what people are voting for or against in 2020.
