Here's Why Trump Will Win In 2020

I predict that Trump is going to win his bid for a second term as President. The scenario I envision, is the following:

Democratic primaries/caucuses are over and done.

Bernie comes in 3rd

Bernie supporters accuse the DNC of playing favorites throw a tantrum fit, and either vote-in Bernie, or some 3rd party candidate

Trump gets about 35% of the popular vote, but like Clinton on his first run, ends up with the electoral votes needed to win the Presidency

During Trump's second term, two more Supreme Court vacancies will be filled with Evangelical-blessed judges, and the Handmaiden's Tale, edited to include only Aunt Hilda's perspective, will be mandatory reading for school children, from pre-school up.

Anyone looking forward to this scenario?

Do Sanders supporters really think like this? I'm interested to know your opinion your experiences.

I follow the American left a bit and from what I know they are critical of the Democrat mainstream but also see Trump as significantly worse than any Democrat.

@Burnley123 Well, many Sanders supporters did swing to Trump in the last election. Yet that was mostly.out of disdain for Hillary and as a vote for non-traditional candidates.

So?🤷‍♂️

@Burnley123 a small number are fanatical and will think like this :(

@MethDozer Do you know how many by number?

@Burnley123 Of course not.

@Burnley123 the DSP is around 50,000 last I heard, I would guess 2/3 of them, and about as many who aren't affiliated, so call it 75000. Double it, to be cautious, so 150000. Mostly in deep-blue states, I think (NY, CN, CA, OR, WA, MA maybe), so the effect on Presidential elections will be very small

@Burnley123 Trump's actual policy direction wasn't really laid out and was running on a platform that he didn't really live up to. So there's that.

@Burnley123 Much of the US left is the same, but there is a fraction that seem to be purity ponies - no compromise is acceptable, it has to be 100% their way.

@Burnley123 My experience with his core supporters on SW, is that they will cast a spoiler vote, if Bernie is not the selected one. In 2016, I caucused for Bernie, but once the primaries were done, I knew there was only one logical vote to make, and that was the vote that will prevent a Trump victory. The protest votes put Trump over the "electoral college" edge, which is all that counts for US elections.

@Northwest I'm not so sure so many will.do the same this round without Hillary being the nom and with Trump's record now.

@Northwest We also have a first past the post system and I disagree with it but it means tactical voting is a massive thing. A lot of liberals might not vote labour next time because corbyn is not pro remain enough for them. There is a story in this bit of you want a path to avoid Brexit, it logically runs out of through the Labour Party.
