In 850AD, the Vikings came to America, colonized both Iceland and Greenland, but in the 1300s, the Chinese stopped burning coal out of environmental concerns, causing global temperature to drop. As a result, the cold rough North Sea became unnavigable by the Viking longships.

@Graylight Satire is the highest form of insult.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@IronHamster leave it to the Chinese to screw things up. History repeats itself.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@Baremine How perfectly jingoistic.

I remember the passage now... People with their children came to be embraced in an all-loving Father's unconditional arms. It was then that Jesus commanded, "Out of here; we're full up and you're not in our club, anyway. B'bye."
Baremine · 70-79, C
@Graylight what on earth are you talking about? What passage. You aren't making sense.

@Graylight We know you're sleepy.

@IronHamster It's only funny if it's funny.

@Graylight ...and your point is...?

Nice job, playa, you just scored an own-goal. The person who posted this was supporting climate change denialism. So therefore, by your own logic, they were satirizing the idea, and therefore insulting it in its highest form.

@Baremine
leave it to the Chinese to screw things up.
The Chinese own like a third of your entire country. Better be careful talking about your slave master that way.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick Not really. Look at you, though. It's going to be your generation that fights the Sino-American war.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@IronHamster Considering how much money you owe the Chinese, and how dependent you are on them for industry, manufacturing, and information technology, I'd say it's pretty fair.

There doesn't need to be a "Sino-American War." It's very likely but it really doesn't need to happen, and shouldn't happen. I have very little faith in homosapiens as a rule of thumb but I should hope, if I can hope for anything, that my generation isn't fucking stupid enough to start that war.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick I don't owe the Chinese anything. Your generation does, because I couldn't stop my generation from voting for socialists.
Graylight · 51-55, F
@IronHamster What socialists were those, 'cause that should definitely be in the history books.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@Graylight The ones in the 2014 Congress for instance, like Nancy Pelosi, who overspent on stupid shit, and Bathhouse Barry, the first white man to pass himself off as a black President, who overspent, borrowing money from the ChiComs.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@IronHamster
I don't owe the Chinese anything.
You, personally, don't. But your government does.
Your generation does, because I couldn't stop my generation from voting for socialists.
Lol. So apparently you don't know what a socialist is because, assuming you and I reside in the same nation, we have never once had a socialistic president. The closest thing we've had was Roosevelt, and even he was a far cry from actual socialism. He was a socdem through and through.
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick Wrong. I won't be in the workforce when the bill comes due. Not my problem.

Wrong. I never said we had a socialist government, but we certainly have had socialist politicians in power to overspend.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@IronHamster No, you haven't lmao this nation has never had a socialist politician at the federal level. Again, the closest would be Roosevelt at presidency, and maybe Sanders at the Congressional level, but he too is a socdem.
@IronHamster $4 trillion overspending in a single year (2020) by Trump - does that make him the biggest socialist ever?
IronHamster · 56-60, M
@BlueMetalChick FDR was a piece of shit socialist. He envied the socialist Hitler because Hitler actually got the German economy straightened out. FDR caused and extended the Great Depression with his hands on mismanagement of the economy. No other country had a "great depression". We did.

The only nice thing about FDR's socialism is that he built a lot 9f parks with his work programs, leaving behind stonework and huge log buildings which we can still enjoy today. I wish Obama had done the same, because Solyndra isn't even an empty warehouse we can put used batteries in.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@IronHamster God DAMN you're misguided lol. Did you ever attend fourth grade history class?

Ok, so let's start with the easy ones. Neither Franklin Roosevelt nor Adolf Hitler were socialists. Roosevelt was a socdem, and Hitler was a Nazi. The latter created an entire political party out of disdain for both communism and Marxism. So, you struck out on the first swing already.

Second, Roosevelt did not cause the Great Depression. He was elected president in the middle of it. That's like saying Barack Obama caused the Iraq War.

Third, the Great Depression was specifically triggered by a LACK of socialistic policies. During the 1920's, regulations for big business and financial institutions was nonexistent, and everyone was making money hand over fist because of it. But this created a bubble, which popped and sank the nation into an economic depression. This is called a "boom-busy cycle" and it has happened reliably every time the federal government has done mass deregulation. A period of rampant economic boom, followed by an enormous and very sudden bust. You know what might have prevented that? Socialistic regulation of financial practices.
@IronHamster DUUUDE!!! Hitler hated socialism!

In Germany in the 1930s,
the Nazis bitterly opposed the Social Democrats;
the Nazis bitterly opposed the Socialists;
the Nazis bitterly opposed the Trade Unionists;
& the Nazis bitterly opposed the Communists.

When I say "bitterly opposed" it means the Nazis sent brownshirt thugs to disrupt rallies and fight in the streets against their political opponents. The Nazis were a reactionary party reacting against the left wing in Germany at the time. The Nazis built their platform on racism, nationalism, and fear of the foreign.
Baremine · 70-79, C
@ElwoodBlues @ElwoodBlues that is what they said but practiced Marxism, a form of socialism.
@Baremine
that is what they said
What they said?? I listed what Hitler & the Nazis did, physically attacking every socialist and communist group. The Nazis said they were socialists, and did the opposite. They were fascists thru and thru.
