Which is more concerning...

1. Baby-trump declares, "We're going to put a man on the face of the moon."
2. "The base" cheered his declaration.

Personally I believe space exploration to be the biggest waste of money possible.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Powderflask Yeah, but people like you in previous generations also said similar things about the Louisiana Purchase, electricity, public roadways, etc.
Powderflask · 31-35, M
@MarkPaul really? All of those ideas have benefited millions of ppl. If we spend millions of taxpayer dollars to launch a hunk of metal at a lifeless, resourceless rock we accomplished what?
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Powderflask Those ideas benefited millions of people in retrospect. During the moment of and right after invention many people with your same mindset didn't see, know, or conceive there would be any benefits.

You see, "the benefits" of the creative process and combining it with science often don't come into focus until after - sometimes long after. At one time, the telephone was viewed as a mere novelty. Imagine if your thought process ruled the day, back in that day.
Powderflask · 31-35, M
@MarkPaul I gotta say I disagree. You still haven't pointed out how theoretically we have benefited from a bankrupt nation wasting our money on moon rocks.
Plenty of technologies have branched off from space exploration the world would look a lot different if we didn't try space exploration @Powderflask
Powderflask · 31-35, M
@Master5dad yes I've heard this b4 I didn't say defund science research. I said we have literally found nothing useful IN SPACE after spending millions of taxpayer dollars for decades.
It's not about what we find in space it's about what we learned on the way to getting there. We never would have found different methods of water purification, freeze dried food or wireless and cordless devices and that's just a few of what came from getting to space.@Powderflask
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Powderflask If all you think we got was moon rocks, you haven't been paying close enough attention to life. On the plus side, unlike Baby-trump at least you are aware we have already put a man on the face of the moon. So, there is that.
When did he say we didn't?@MarkPaul
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad Well, he seemed to imply he knew we had been on the moon... to get the moon rocks he dismisses as the sole accomplishment and it being frivolous.
It kind o fb seems like you're picky at really small things that don tv really mean anything. He gives plenty of things to criticize he isn't perfect but you have to stay on track or normal people won't think you have any good points @MarkPaul
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad It sounds like you're pretty much willing to overlook everything.

He lies consistently. "Oh, everyone lies. Get over it."

He claimed he negotiated the elimination of the North Korea nuclear threat, but they still have all their nuclear weapons. "Oh... well... um... yeah, but they stopped testing, so that's a step in the right direction."

He said Mexico was going to pay for the wall. "Oh... everyone with a brain what he meant was... Mexico would pay for the wall indirectly. That's obvious."

He said he would reduce the budget deficit, but it's spiraling out of control. "Oh... well... Obama didn't reduce the deficit."

He claimed "the wall" is being built. Yet, no wall has been installed. "Well, you're just nitpicking. Besides, how do you know the wall isn't being built. Were you there? Fake news."

He claims the economy is doing fantastic. Yet, more people than ever before need to work more than 1 job just to survive because the jobs being created are low wage. Besides, he relies on statistics he claimed were not accurate before he became president. "Well, that's just sour grapes."

You need to have the guts to stand up to power otherwise people will think you are weak and vulnerable and question your credibility.
I told you to stop focusing on the big stuff he has done not the stuff he may or not implied that's stupid or him just misspeaking it makes you sound unhinged and don't put words in my mouth I never said any of that you just assume I'm for the guy because I don't just shake my head and agree with everything you say while my eyes glaze over @MarkPaul

@Powderflask
really? All of those ideas have benefited millions of ppl.
Yes, but only in retrospect. At the time, the idea seemed crazy. Same with the Johnson purchase of Alaska, which was also subbed the biggest waste of money, at the time.

The real comparison though, should be to the first Columbus voyage, to find a route to India.
If we spend millions of taxpayer dollars to launch a hunk of metal at a lifeless, resourceless rock we accomplished what?
A bug chunk of the technologies we take for granted, today, were developed as part of our original space program. Science for the sake of science, is never a bad idea for, generally speaking, we don't know what we don't know.
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad You told me to stop focusing on the "small things" like outright lying time and time and time again ("misspeaking"), like not being in touch with reality ("that makes you sound unhinged when you call him on it"), and putting in own interests ahead of his country's (you know what a president is supposed to do). Apparently, pointing out he is not what he claims (in other words, he's a fraud) makes you feel uncomfortable.

Maybe you should open your eyes for a change to get a real look at just who Baby-trump REALLY is instead of taking his word for it that he's just a "regular" guy doing a service to you. Wake up!
You're delusional you' and everyone else has been wining about trump for almost four years. At this point America isn't listening to you anymore, you're white noise and now that no one takes the Democrats they've gone insane and every town hall and debate they've had proves it that's why people are going to vote for trump again you're making the republicans look sane the Democrats are going to run this country into the ground if they don't start listening to the average American we are the majority the middle class has to be preserved or else this country will be bled dry.@MarkPaul
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad No offense, but you must be living in an institution on heavy sedation (no wonder your eyes keep glazing over). In the midterms, the Republican lost the House. Yes, yes, I know Baby-trump messaged your feelings (and his) by telling you that the loss was a big win. But, it was and remains a big loss. When you lose, it's not fake news, it's not a win. It's a loss. Can you say Baby-trump lost? I knew you couldn't...

The truth is finally starting to emerge about just how corrupt (the most corrupt in modern history) that Baby-trump is and all your, But, Hillary... but Obama... but the Democrats doesn't change that Baby-trump is corrupt, has hired corrupt people, and is the worst president in modern times.

And, apparently you are listening because you keep commenting. So keep denying all you want, keep taking the sedation medication you are being given all you want, and keep letting Baby-trump tell you what is going on that contradicts what you can see and read for yourself. When you do wake up and realize that is blood on your anti-American hands, just don't come crying (or denying your role) to me.
Dude you're either insane or a troll you have trump supporters being beaten outside of their rally's and hats being taken of their heads and burned in the streets with riots while masked antics lunatics are calling every person they can a nazi including gin elderly women with walkers crossing the street. Portland, California and Seattle are places you'd never want to go to based on the riots and the homelessness. Meanwhile these republicans that we hear are so terrible have cleaned three communities so far and they plan to keep going while the climate change protesters through confetti and dance in the street. I don't care about the leader or politician I pay attention to the people who support them and their ideas because those are real people @MarkPaul
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad My little man... you sound like a hardcore troll. Some putting everyone on to one side or the other. If you think only Democrats are beating people with crazy hats and only Republicans are cleaning up the streets then you are part of the problem.
Dude you're way to aggressive every time I talk about being civil you say it's a fantasy maybe this country should split clearly tolerance is dead @MarkPaul

@Master5dad
Portland, California and Seattle are places you'd never want to go to based on the riots and the homelessness.
Out of curiosity, have you been to any of these places, and have you witnessed these riots?
You don't have to be there to know what's happening @Northwest
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad Listen up, little man. You haven't acted civilly; you haven't talked about being civil. And, tbh I don't think you know what the word means based on your behaviour.

Now, that being said, you show a severe case of delusional thinking that, in my professional opinion, suggests you are either not in touch with reality or you don't know the difference between reality and this fanciful world of only good guys (Republicans) and bad "hombres" (Democrats and rapists, no doubt).

What I want to see from you is some recognition that you are interested in improving yourself. It's all about "continuous improvement."
MarkPaul · 26-30, M
@Master5dad This speaks volumes.

I am from one of these places, a frequent visitor to another, and live in the third. Yet, I fail to notice, what you, someone who has not been to any of them, seem to think is a normal occurrence. Could it be that you have no clue, and you're simply relying on propaganda?
