The American wife of a U.S.Diplomat in London is wanted by UK Police having been allegedly involved in a hit and run accident that killed a teenager.
Having been asked not to leave the country she fled home.

Do spouses also get diplomatic immunity? I don’t think anyone should get it for a serious crime like that.

@cherokeepatti From what i can gather she qualifies for immunity because of her husbands role......which isn't very clear.

@Picklebobble2 This is just an extension of the American attitude to its citizens being above the law. American servicepeople are not subject to international war crimes charges in the court of the Hague. They only scream about international treaties when it suits them. An SAS strike team would soon sort her out.

@whowasthatmaskedman It’s an international immunity for diplomats, not just for American diplomats. I don’t like it at all though.

@cherokeepatti I agree. But the spouse of a diplomat wanted on a charge like this sets a poor example. Cant help but wonder of this would have happened back in the good old days.
