What’s your view on flavored e-cigs being banned?

The ban came as a result of 6 people dying from lung complications after using flavored e-cigs. I think there should be a regulation than a ban on the product.

E-cigs are no different from regular cigs. Both kill but people should be free to destroy themselves.

No ban.

@SW-User The victims have a median age of 19. When was the last time you saw smoking cigs kill 19-year olds? People have been going from being healthy into intensive care over a period of days. This situation is clearly very different from regular cigs, even if nobody expects either vaping or cigarettes to be healthy life choices.

@QuixoticSoul Smoking had the same problems back then. Reason why they placed an age limit. Also, people get sick by smoking relatively quick too. Just not everyone.

Out of all the people that vape, we have a few that can't handle it. What about the rest that are fine? Like with cigs?

@SW-User We had six sudden deaths and well over hundreds oh hospitalizations, all within about a month, in otherwise generally healthy young people. The product itself has only been in use for a couple of years.

Nearly anything the FDA regulates would be pulled and reexamined in this situation.

And no, the vast majority of smokers are fine for decades, very, very few 19 year olds suddenly die from cigarettes.

@QuixoticSoul Pull, reexamine, fix. Vaping is considered "healthier" than cigs. At least, that's what health experts, not me, have been saying.

I don't believe in a ban. I honestly hate bans. But, bad press can always bring out a better product.

Cigs either way kill people. Just because it takes longer on most, doesn't mean it's any less horrible.

@SW-User Yes, everyone thought vaping was healthier than cigs. Until 19 year olds started suddenly ending up in the ICU with no prior symptoms, and nobody knows why.

Keeping unsafe products off the market is exactly why we have the FDA.

@QuixoticSoul FDA kind of drops a lot of balls. They ban things that have no reason to be banned and allow things like this.

I mean, I honestly don't see vaping going anywhere. Just remodeled.
